madkoi - yes you seem to have the idea right.
You pay yourself back what it would have cost you if it hadn't of been on offer. However if you find you are having a bad week - like no money major unexpected expense - you could pay yourself back what you paid for the item plus a little bit on top but not the full amount - so using the T.bags in point they cost you £4.00 should have been £5.99 but even just paying £5.00 for them would result in you being in profit.
    Hope this helps.

Thanks Billie-jo I guess I cant get my head round that I have already paid for the item when I first purchased it. I will give a good try! xx

Yes you need to use the money you set aside in the first place then forget about it. In time you will make your £30 back and more on top.

Hi Billie-jo! I haven't managed to put any money in my second purse yet but I owe it £15!

Welcome modkoi! Sounds like you've got it. Its a bit trial and error in what works for you really and how much you can/want to pay back. Some items I would never buy if they were full price so I just top up what I think would be fair.

Hi alibo , billyjo and all newbies,
Sorry I haven't been on for ages although I did update my signature last week.
So, a new year/new start. I am carrying on saving for Christmas with my third purse. I saved well over £200 for last Christmas (the full amount is in my signature), and that was just from May.

The problem is that I am now really having to pull in the belt over the next few months. My second purse has £41 in it. It should have £71 but I had to borrow £30. I did manage to put £40 plus away in my third purse which I don't want to touch. I can't remember the actual amounts that are in my signature.

I do want to make the most of the aldi voucher and get some bargains there. Just need to get creative to make it all work and manage on less money than I have had to for ages.

Hope everyone sticks with it. It was really good to come on and see loads of posts.

    God bless

  • Hi There

I've been unable to log on for months, I tried everything nothing worked. I have been reading all your posts faithfully. You are all doing so well.

Its been a hard year for me DD3 was pregnant, she has a brain tumour, she got a clot in her lung and had a wide variety of other problems. Baby was born two days ago after a horrendous labour with massive blood loss. The baby was just shy of 10 lb ouch!!!!
She had a transfusion and her hemoglobin is only about 7. Poor wee soul. It will take her a while to get back on her feet.

Been up all night catching up on my accounts, my tax return is due in at the end of the month. Its been so hectic here and my brain so minced I couldn't even think about paperwork. Anyway My 2nd purse only has £40 in it and my 3rd purse is empty. Mainly due to me revamping my kitchen with new worktops and sink and I ended up buying a small chest freezer and a lovely tall Samsung fridge, as well as the other F/freezer I talked about.

I've got a good stock thanks to Morrisons vouchers , I used them every week to stock up on all the things I use regularly. And thanks to the M+S Jan vouchers ( I managed to get 3 books) I've stocked my freezer with all manner of treats. And got quite a few bottles of wine with the dine in offers.
I got £330 quids worth of Boots gifts in their 70% off sale for birthdays and next xmas for £100. So Im off to a good start this year. I spent £2000 of my ISA on the kitchen revamp and I'm keen to replace that.
I've been having a good clear out, and I found loads of gifts I'd forgotten about as well. I'm going to have a bash at selling some stuff on ebay, never done it before so that will be an experience.

I am so happy to be able to post again. I've really missed you all.
I will post anything I purchase from today.:j:j
