Second Purse Challenge Thread #2

Hi everyone, haven't been on this thread for a while but have still been using this system.
Figures are looking good and I think this is because I have made a conscious effort to use things up I have had in. It took a while before I realised that to get the figures looking good I really needed to start to use up some of the stock and not just keep stocking up. Common sense really but at first I was just happy to have a better store cupboard.

I haven't posted for a while because my hubs was in hospital for a week at the beginning of the month and I've been looking after him at home ever since.
Most stressful time ever trying to look after him and a 1 and 5 year old while trying to work, it was a big shock wasn't expecting it. However very pleased I had my store cupboard as I only went to the shop for essential milk and bread for the kids. Totally lost track now though and spent most of the change from my second purse on the hospital car park (total rip off) and my third purse has gone on medication.
Have I missed the Aldi voucher? need to get back on track.Second Purse Challenge

Hi Skilly, I'm really pleased with how I'm doing. I have so far put £218 in my third purse since I started in May and think there is some more ready to be transferred from my second purse. I just keep buying off myself and throwing the money in there. I have the £5 off coupon for @ldi to spend tomorrow or Thursday and plan to use that to stock up. I haven't been keeping a tally of my stock value but I am happy that I have a good supply and the system is working well for me. 11 mile round trip is a good way to go, I have a Mr M, Mr T, @ldi, and L1dl within a couple of miles.
ALIBO: How is your husband? Hospital carpark charges are a big bug bear of mine. I think it's disgusting.
BILLYJO: It is a really good system once you get into the flow of it isn't it? I think the trick is a mix of stuff you use regularly and some more long term. So I have lots of cereal and cartons of non dairy milk that we get through really fast and that I buy on offer and haven't paid full price for in six months now as I have bought so much when the offer is on that it lasted till it came round again. I also have extra washing powder and dish washer tabs that I maybe won't use for three months but I know that when we run out there will be another one there that I haven't had to pay top price for. I love that I have saved over £200 towards this Christmas just by doing this.

It is a very good system Esther once you can get your head around it.
I understood it from the start but my down fall was not buying off myself so I had a mountain of stuff in yet still went the shops. Nowadays I remember more often to use what is in and pay for it so its working great now.
I have a lot of tom soup in probably the only soup I buy now and like you say there is enough till its back on offer. We don't eat cereal often as I get bored with it easily but we do have porridge in stock as well as lots of other things.
Will have to update totals soon.MARCH £62.38/2500 -
Well I have been to @ldi and £23 of the money I spent was from my second purse for stocking up. I bought more cereal, washing up liquid, dish washer tabs, shower gel and some tinned stuff with my second purse money. That went a good way towards making up the £40 so that I got my £5 off. I have now updated my signature.
Oh, we posted at the same time Billy-Jo. I know it seems daft to buy wul when you have a dishwasher but we still manage to get through a fair amount of it.
