Yes i've also noticed how quiet it is on here. Wonder whats happened to everyone!
I haven't bought much stock at all in the last 2 weeks, trying to start using my supplies but also haven't seen so many offer s around recently...or maybe i'm not looking hard enough. I remember when I first stsrted Tesco was doing a big half price promotion. I couldn't stop spending! :rotfl:Second Purse Challenge

Hellloooo !!!
Sorry I've been really lax (again) and not posted in a while. You all seem to be doing well with your purses :j Excellent use of spreadsheets for your stock alibo100!
I put £20 in the 2nd purse every month, but I guess it's whatever system works for you. I like the idea of putting some money in when you get 'gifted' food, that's great.
My totals are now:
2nd purse: £104.40
3rd purse: £42.47
Stock value: £85.40
I think this is the first time I've had stock value of less than £100. I need to start stocking up on things - dove shampoo is HP in boots right now, so may toddle off there this week.
Keep going everyone, you know it's worth it!

Hi everyone,
Quick update from me. Still haven't managed to go on a hunt for stock for my shop. My car was out of action for 2 days this week, and the other days I was working
My new totals are as follows:
2nd purse: £50/£50
3rd purse: £111.67 :j
Stock value: £75.60
My stock is getting really low so in two weeks time when my part time job finishes I need to get a grip and buy some items !!!

Hi everyone,
I have been buying from Esther's bagels a lot just recently but not been buying bargains. So my stock is getting very low and I really need to find some things that i will use regularly to restock. The good thing is that my third purse now has £121 in it towards Christmas. Had I not joined this challenge, I wouldn't have had that money and I have £100 set aside for buying bargains when I do find them.
God bless. Esther xSecond purse £101/100

Put £20 in my third purse and have £45 in my second purse so am well pleased with that. It seems like my new strategy is working better for me I've been buying loads from my stock and hardly spent much on my weely shop. Also managed to get quite good yellow sticker stuff this weekend.
Feeling more positive!

ALIBO: Glad things are working better for you and youre feeling more positive. £302 worth of stock is fantastic too. I still have no idea what mine is worth, but I know it is going down. I do need to go to Costco so maybe I will get some bargains there. God bless. Esther xSecond purse £101/100

Well, finally been out and bought some more stock. Got some more dairy free milk as that was on offer again and I'm getting low on what I had stocked up on in the summer. That's a good one for me as I get through four or five cartons a week. Got some deodorant and a few other things too. I'm buying back quite a lot as well so the whole system is flowing.
I need to look out for a good deal on showergel for DH and DS, I have plenty from gift sets etc.
So I now have £69 in my second purse but I owe it £5.00, just haven't got any spare cash in my first purse at the moment.
Will go and update my signature.

Hi Esther, you seem to be doing really well! If you don't mind me asking how much do you put aside for your normal weekly shop and how many people are you feeding? I have £70 per week budget and feeding 5 - 3 adults and 2 children.
I put another £14 in my second purse so now I have £97! Almost at my £100 target!! Definitely feel like I'm getting the hang of this system!Second Purse Challenge

Hi Alibo, well done on the latest £14 and glad you feel you are getting the hang of it.
There are three, sometimes four of us adults although one eats enough for three lol. I started keeping track of what I spend a few months ago and was shocked. I thought it was about two hundred and fifty a month but turns out it is more like three hundred and fifty to four hundred. I think fruit is one of our biggest expenses as we get through loads. We have meat/fish most days too but I do stretch it out and we don't have a lot at each meal.
However, this month I have been using up more stuff from the freezer and really trying to make do with what I have at home as I am starting to buy Christmas presents etc., and I am estimating approx £270 as I am planning on a £40ish Aldi spend with the voucher. I go round with my calculator when I have a so much off a so much spend coupon.
I have really noticed the prices shooting up this past couple of years.
