Question about dna tests and Csa, ( x partner problem)

Hiya, I just wondered about dna tests through the CSA.
My X has told the csa that he thinks our 2nd daughter isnt his, and he wants a dna test. How long does this take through the csa? and who has to pay? Just wondered really as he thinks it will all be done in a week?
And do I have to give my dna or can i refuse?
Thanks.

Firstly, is this a new rules case? IE is it a quite recent claim? Secondly, is he named on the birth certificate as being the father?
The cSA can make presumptions of parentage if the father is named on the birth certificate.0 -
The claim went in about a year ago but they have only found him about 3 months ago.
hes not on the birth certificates and basically he was trying to get access to my girls but i wasnt prepared to let him have them whilst hes saying the 2nd daughter isnt his!! ( totally confusing he thinks he can tell csa that one daughters not his but try for access to both daughters how messed up is that)
Anyway after mediation hes said he will get dna tests for both girls ( even more confusing) But he thinks he can get this done through the csa is this right? Karen xx:eek:Always trying to get a Bargain lol

Don t refuse to give your dna. Agree to it via csa & he ll have to pay for each test. If he refuses when he finds out he ll have to pay they ll presume parentage. Thats what happened to myself & daughter i asked for dna test as he denied being her dad. He knows full well that she s his & refused to have a dna test when he realised it would hit his wallet. Good luck anyway. I know how much it hurts for the father of a child to deny the child. Its there loss.0

The CSA do not get involved in Contact issues (previously called access).
The CSA deal with child maintenance.
Believe it or not, it is possible to get a contact order for a child that is not biologically yours.Well life is harsh, hug me don't reject me.0 -
Thanks for your replys its interesting finding out these things,

When he gets the forms from the CSA he will tick the box that says that he does not accept that the is not the father. As they can't presume parentage in his case, he can undertake a DNA test, but first there will be interviews with both parties. don't refuse to do a DNA test otherwise you could find that it goes against you and he will be deemed not to be the father! It takes months to sort out though.0

When my daughters father denied being her dad i had to phone this guy up on a day he had given me & i had to give him details of the relationship i d had. The guy gave as was then "alleged none resident parent " so many days to contact him. I had given consent for d n a test for daughter & i. But after 1st contact with them daughters father did not cooperate he just ignored them which resulted in them presuming parentage. I was not married to him & he isn t on my daughters birth certificate.
If i were you agree to the tests you know he s your kids dad. I would bet that he ll refuse the tests when he finds out they cost over £100 if they show he s dad.
When Csa told me that he d denied being dad i laughed as i knew he would and i said to them ok lets have a dna test then. It took about 7 months to us getting money & that was via a deo.
Keep on with it & keep ringing csa up to check on progress !0 -
But they can presume parentage if he refuses to undertake the DNA test.0

im in a similar situation to at the moment, hes denied DS to be his.
This is after nearly 3 years, after being told so much conflicting advise from the csa i nearly gave up,but thought in the end why should i be made to be the lyer.
anyway, last week i was told it is now going for a dna test.It should take roughly 6 weeks for it to be all sorted (so im giving it a year knowing what the csa are like) after both parties taking the test the results should be back within 7-10 working days.If he is the father he will have to pay for the test but im not sure what happens if he is not??
If he doesnt turn up for the test (he goes on a day before you and the child goes to stop you a wasted journey if he doesnt turn up) then paternity is then presumed.
I cant wait till this is all over for me and DS, i bet you feel the same.
good luck and i hope i could help a little.
p.s. i was told it costs roughly £500,not sure if its true though.I heart The Capital0 -
If he is found not to be the father, he won't be billed, nor will he be asked to pay maintenence. The PWC will be contacted for more info from the CSA to establish who the father is.0
