Personally I think we are loosing the point of this thread with all the weather forecasts which are duplicated in several threads and people can't find the great advice on how to keep warm

We all know it's wet and going to get cold it is nearly December after all but new people can't find the info on how to cope with it

    Just my opinion

Another jeans ditcher here! Treated myself to water resistant lined trousers from Cotton Traders. Bought them for walking in snow but must admit to loving them and not wanting to take them off when I get home! (£35 normally but I've had an email this morning offering 22.5% off all online sales for the next 3 days.)
Don't know how I'll cope when it gets really cold.... Oooh and 6 pockets! so quite useful if you like to walk carrying keys, phone etc without the hindrance of a bag. (No, I'm not on commision!)
Joggers with tights underneath are quite good but wouldn't go out wearing them:o
The beautiful thing about learning is nobody can take it away from you.
Thanks to everyone who contributes to this wonderful forum. I'm very grateful for the guidance and friendliness that I always receive from you.

Hi everyone, hope you are all snug, warm and dry. I just want to know if you would like me to continue posting the weather predictions that I get from my friends? Are they helping anyone or would you rather I stop posting them? Thanks xxxx

I do find your posts interesting but I agree with hunters. Much as I am very interested in the weather models and forecasting, I belong to another forum to discuss that and I think the Prep for Winter board should just be about prepping for winter.

Obviously there will be an overlap where we do discuss what weather is on its way, what has affected us, how we dealt with it and what can be learned etc.

Lots of winter goodies in Poundland yesterday. Big thick scarves, gloves, iTouch gloves, thermal socks (2 pair pack for ladies). Perfect to have even in the car.

Primark do fleece lined tights which are great under trousers as they aren't bulky. They were £4 last year not sure of the price this year.

also agree with the above ....

Maybe we could ask Pink to add a link to the weather page in the 1st post so those who want to look at it can easily find it but it's not being repeated throughout the thread?

I'm afraid I agree with the others. I find it quite annoying to see weather posted everywhere (as its also on two other threads aswell) and here I just want to find out how I can best be prepared for anything that nature can throw at us.

I cut a cross in the middle of a fleece blanket and often wear it as a poncho... keeps me lovely and warm, including my neck and shoulders, AND I can still get on with almost anything that I need to do! Whips off really quickly too when visitors turn up!

alice-mary thank you so much for the cross in the fleece poncho idea. I'm toasty this morning and able to do all my jobs without it getting in my way. I've cut another fleece in half and made 2 ponchos for the girls. A really useful tip that will be used forever by me now ;)
