I'm sat watching news again and I really can't believe what is happening weather wise. I feel so helpless. My heart goes out to you and your loved ones. The flooding is absolutely horrendous. I wish you all well and take care.

Just got home from work-was sent home early (this occurrence NEVER happens) car blowing all over the road.
Just so glad to be in, although the gusts outside sound awful and the house seems to be moving.

But I know we are still very lucky compared to some, I'm In North West Wales on top of a hill.

Lights flickering, torch and candles at the ready, off to put my PJ's on now and sit and watch the news.

Please take care everyone, and don't go out unless it's an emergency.

Same here toozie, got candles lit anyway cos it makes it cosy. Got head torch in case power goes off and I want to read. Just wish now that we had a more old-fashioned house - instead of two three-seater couches against the walls, I wish we had two big cosy armchairs near the fire.

Pretty deep at the above now.

I think my windows are going to cave in any moment-or it feels like it.

Very windy now in West Yorkshire top gust so far 79mph Some parts have lost power. Candles and torches are ready and I've filled a flask with hot water. I've made sure that the boys have tidied the things off their bedroom floors, I don't want anyone falling over if the lights go out.

    Stay safe folks.

We have gusts of 92mph so Paul Hudson said on the weather this evening. DGS has slept it was too windy for his mum to come and collect him after work. So I will get plenty of cuddles tonight in bed, he's only 16months old. We have got torches and candles at the ready too.
Why pay full price when you may get it YS ;)

It was a bit windy here in Liverpool last night. I was waiting for the trees in neighbours gardens to come down but they're still okay :)

Last Friday I noticed that the storm earlier in the month had caused some slipped slates on the roof so I told my landlady on Monday (completely forgot as my head is all over the place until she called me :o) and the same day the roofer called :D He's looked and said he'll call back and go over the whole roof when he has slates but there is at least 1 slipped & he'll check the chimneys & clear the gutters of debris while he's there :D

Tomorrow I have a man coming to look at all the windows where the sealant has shrunk away around the frames on all of them so there is a noticeable draught and wallpaper is peeling away and getting damp as a result. In the bathroom its so bad at the corners you can see daylight if you look at the right angle  I also have 2 broken locks, and one of my livingroom windows is stuck not quite locked open but not shut either so in last nights high winds my curtains where noticeably moving! I also have a problem with the windows at the front of the house steaming up in between the panes of glass. Looks like everything is going wrong at the same time here :(

On the plus side, she's going to give me some money towards decorating the house, which I'll leave until these problems are solved ;)
Creeping back in for accountability after falling off the wagon in 2016.
Need to get back to old style in modern ways, watching the pennies and getting stuff done!
