Well morning preppers, we have been battered by huge winds and driving rain for the past 24 hrs, it has been the worst bout yet....
There is so much coastal damage and flooding here in Cornwall, I'm not sure how much more this little town can manage. Last night I ventured up to close the chickens in and came back 5 mins later shaking like a leaf.... boy I wish I had a small amount of chooks as they would be taken into my outhouse tonight, it is really evil out there.
Such a little amount of sleep last night due to worrying about this god awful weather, I'm just praying we get some respite soon. DD2's friend is being dropped here this morning as she has to leave early for work and is worried about leaving her home until time for school as it's that bad. I'm also worried about sending the kids to school DD2 walks and there is a lot of fallen trees and debris still flying. DD1 goes on a school bus to another school 10 miles away and I don't even know if the roads are blocked from fallen trees and power lines down.... Oh what a mess, roll on spring:eek:

Thriftkitten when it's wild here I used to keep the kids at home, I don't trust school buses in bad weather. Been wildish here too and wish it would shove off lol.

Might be different down there :) most probs up here are with snow, and the high school is 20 miles away so I just thought easier to keep them at home and be driven mad. lol

we had snow yesterday, and it's still here!

started out with hard little hail like flakes then turned into huge slowly falling flakes then back to tiny flakes again. supposedly there's to be more tomorrow so fingers crossed, finally feels a little like winter :T

Its been snowing here, I now have the small snow shove in the boot of my car. Not working at the moment (not for the want of trying, also waiting to hear about one interview which they said I'd hear early this week), so my heating is on almost all day albeit I have it at 16C.

^ Red weather warnings are scary.:(

I'm nowhere near there but it's blowing a gale outside. I was going to clear out my shed today but I think I will postpone that for another day!

Full blizzard here and the power's gone off and on already.
  • Our power is flicking on and off, no its like it's on half power. Some sockets work some don't..... toaster switches on but not enough to toast. Iukwim.
But on a plus note my new solar power wind up radio arrived this morning so can listen to the radio. And the Internet is still working lol.
