We are due to have a few days (+) of disruptive weather this week but I have seen a few FB pages saying that we are going to have up to 12 inches of snow in the thames valley!!! I have not seen this anywhere else (altho I bet the daily express are/will be ramping it up as only they know how :D )

I checked PCs website and, whilst I find his posts difficult to translate, I don't see snow being mentioned. Although it is a R4/R5 weather period....

Has anyone else been forecast snow?

(eta I do not believe for 1 second we will get 12 inches of snow here near london!)
Putting these winter preps here so I don't forget!

No snow forecast for where we are.....I don't think!

But OMG it is so cold today, the wind is howling & temperatures have really dropped, so with the wind chill it seems colder than it is.

Just put my warm PJ's on, boot type slippers and long towelling dressing gown, and about to dish out a chicken casserole, veg and jackets.

Hope the snow isn't too disruptive for anybody.

Been blowing like crazy today here in Cornwall, some really nasty gusts, But so far have not lost the 9foot run that I covered yesterday for the chooks to shelter in... Fingers crossed it's still there tomorrow morning, don't fancy that thing bounding down the garden toward the kitchen window.... we're on an incline too  Someone here in St Ives mentioned of the old Face*ook that we may get some snow, but I think they may have had a piece of pasty lodged in their brain as we never get any and can't see it tonight as too warm, rainy and blowy here! Oh nice to here glencoe got some impressive snowfall, I will look forward to looking at the Kings house hotel's webcam during daylight... Sad I know, but I occasionally see deer and snow which is my buzz for the day. Heating on here, bath's for the kids and hotwater bottles surrounding the bed clothes Mmmmm all cozy, stay warm peeps.

I have a slanket, I believe the garment is called, and tonight is the first time I have put in on in the sitting room which is usually toasty warm. The temperature is definitely going down - I feel it in my feet days before the weather really turns. The electric blanket is on already and I feel a hot chocolate coming on anytime now!

We had a furious flurry for five mins on Thursday and we are forecast snow next Friday, but not heaps, and not expected to stick around. That's West Yorkshire. Was snowing today in the north east, Durham way.

I still get excited about the snow :o

Thanks ThriftKitten, that looks a fab place to stay, have you ever been there?

Looks wet around the hotel at the moment, but loads of the fluffy stuff on the mountains.

I will keep an eye on their webcam now-thank you.

Temperatures have dropped here, and are going to get colder this week-though I think we've had it "warm" so far this winter, it shouldn't really be a shock.
Monday is the only day I don't work, so after I've done all the housework and dashing around this morning. Later on I'll be doing some "work" on my computer and sitting down for a few hours. Our garage is converted into a "computer room" for both of us, so I'll shut both door's into the room, and plug in my tiny oil filled heater which adequately warms the room, so the heating comes on as normal at 5.30pm. The sun also shines into the room after lunch, so if there is any (!!!) I'll open the blackout blind.

Heating is times to come on at 5.30 and off at 8.30pm, I don't really feel the chill during the rest of the evening-but hubby does, and did start putting the gas fire on in the living room, so I have persuaded him to put one of those lumber jacket/ shirts on over his ordinary clothes-you know the sort that is checked and padded. He has a couple he used to wear to work, so at least he doesn't use the fire anymore!!
