Having just seen the news that British Gas are hiking their prices too I doubt it'll be long before the other companies hike theirs. We had the heating on for an hour last night and just stayed bundled up with fleece pj's and dressing gowns.CC2 = £8687.86 ([STRIKE]£10000[/STRIKE] )CC1 = £0 ([STRIKE]£9983[/STRIKE] ); Reusing shopping bags savings =£5.80 vs spent £1.05.Wine is like opera. You can enjoy it even if you don't understand it and too much can give you a headache the next day J0

I have managed to fix mine until November 2014 but still need to be really careful with it. I feel for the people who have to already choose between 'heat or eat', this is only going to make it even harder for them.0 -
chirpchick- I used to put little white baby socks on my children's hands then put their jumpers/coats on as the were for ever puuling off mittens. I also used to put ski socks on over their socks or soft shoes in the car as they always used to pull off their socks/ shoes. The socks used to go past their knees and was hard for them to take off. I picked up 2 slinky blanket cheap in the sale and they are always in the car. My kids love having a snuggle if its a long tripx0

I have my bedroom windows open at night too, always have had, may have to have a bit or a rethink where I live now though as it's so windy and the noise wakes me up, I hate a stuffy bedroom though. So far I've just had the heating on downstairs when i've had it on, all the heat seems to fly upstairs as have an open plan staircase in the middle of the lounge. I'm not sure i'll ever need to put the heating on upstairs at all I this house unless it gets very cold. The heat from the huge bathroom towel rail kicks out loads of heat too (which I can't turn down or off it appears).
It will be interesting to see, but i'm not sure this new place won't be cheaper to run than the piddly flat I had before even though more than double the size.
I was hot and cold the other night too....found all my pillows on the floor in the morning.
Edit.....i'm going to try and do a bit of an experiment on myself as I think i'm being quite soft. I think tomorrow I am going to see how cold I actually feel without any heating on at all (haven't been having it on lots anyway), as want to see if I am genuinely cold and need it on, or if it's a bit of a psychological thing assuming I need it due to the time of year.
Also plan is on next days off to go and finally get some candles in.Yep...still at it, working out how to retire early.:D....... Going to have to rethink that scenario as have been screwed over by the company. A work in progress.0 -
It dropped to 3 degrees over night last night, had a small amount of condensation on the windows this morning. Very disappointed as new A rated windows, was hoping I wouldn't get condensation anymore. It is a lot less than in previous years and I had been drying washing in the house last night, plus its been damp all week. Will monitor and use the dehumidifier more if necessary. Any other suggestions?0

So annoyed grrrrr! Bought some flannelette sheets off amazon, only place i could find aubergine/purple ones, they've arrived today and they're AWFUL! Not only do they look like they could be really REALLY thin, they're not even the right colour! They're like an acidic pinky purple! I would not eat an aubergine that colour haha! Nuclear! Will check them properly when I get home as I can't really start unpackaging sheets at my desk, but I was so looking forward to a snuggly bed!! GRRRR!September 2016 GC £21.37/£1200

My new slipper boots are so warm, much better than my old flip flop type slippers. :)It's actually fairly warm here today and we still have the garden door open.So annoyed grrrrr! I'm usually impressed by Amazon but I bought some curtains this year and they were terrible and thin. :mad:I think attaching fleecy material would look bad as they are so see through so I will have to fork out on a new warmer pair.0 -
Lots of washing powder offers around for Persil so I have stocked up. We are shopping tomorrow for winter clothes for ds's 2 and 3. Also going to get myself another pair of pyjamas.
We too had condensation this morning, we are hoping that the patch on the wall in our bedroom is not a leaky roof. I have put one of the moisture traps in the cupboard next to where the patch is as it felt a bit damp. We have had work done on the roof recently so fingers crossed.
