Thanks Kittie for the heads up, my eldest DD (19) made a passing comment the other day about snow in a fortnight. I thought she was just winding me up :rotfl:

Bale of hay got and enough feed for a month will get some more in 2-3 wks.
Tablet box full, olbas oil, (£1.65 in morrisons),tickly cough med, food store coming on nicely.
Car boxes getting done today/this week if we get a break in the weather
Going to give cars a hoover and a wash.
Bye for now x0 -

I got so much from this thread last year and it's time to start implementing some of the great stuff I learned.
Think I may have to hire a dehumidifier as what I thought was a slow leak has turned into a major damp problem resulting in losing half the downstairs loo ceiling, that and the bathroom just feel so dank and I cant have repairs done until it dries out so will look into that this week.managed to borrow/lend, whatever is correct, one from a family member. Ceiling being replaced 28th
Need to get some more of the fleeces from Ikea to line the curtains with (last years got used for lining the boot when taking some stuff to the tip and got thrown too) going today
Daughter needs boots, we both have wellies from last year.not got yet
Will get daughter to try on last years big coat see if it still fits but very much doubt it. unbelievably it fits
I will get my winter coat down for an airing, I had 2 last year (both over 10 yrs old lol) one sadly passed away so will try to get through this year with just the 1.
Must remember where I put the bag with all the hats, gloves and scarves in....hmmm found it
Fine for Jumpers and blankets.
Get car serviced, got a feeling brakes are ready for a change so will get that done sooner rather than later. still to do, off work soon so will do it then
Tyres are ok as I've replaced them earlier in the year.
Sort out supplies for the boot.
Start grabbing a bag of grit every other week to stock up.
Up the heating budget from now to get a head start.
Went pj shopping last week.
Need some hot water bottles.
Will add to as I go.
Thank you for this thread as I think it really helps us with some great suggestions that would have otherwise not entered our minds

high % chance snow everywhere in 15 days for 4 days then wet stormy nasty
20% chance no snow. Make of it what you will, no more info but no harm to prep
Serial lurker coming out to say thanks to Kittie for this, I remember some of your posts from last year and really appreciate the advance warning. Please come back and share if/when you get any more information.0 -
I bet it snows in Liverpool on the 6th or 7th of November as I should be working on the 7th and it involves being outside for a few hours. It always seems to rain on a Thursday as well :rotfl::rotfl:
Must get some bits and pieces done for the winter prep this coming week. There's a definite chill in the air of a morning.Creeping back in for accountability after falling off the wagon in 2016.Need to get back to old style in modern ways, watching the pennies and getting stuff done!0 -
I cant find good HW bottles yet, got an ASDA one but it turned out to be made from hard rigid rubber so I took it back. Morrissons dont have any yet.
my last 2 were from boots sale, but I dont want to pay full price for theirs this year. I still have 1, but lost the other on a UK winter break lol.0 -
Just a note that the brushed cotton sheets from Matalan seem to be quite good quality.
Rainy but not cold here so the heating remains firmly off.0 -
