I am amazed that more and more people seem to be no longer watching TV or owning one...I know I own a smallish flat screen tv purchased whilst I am able but so far I have never used it. Purchased my first TV license in April but may not buy another.

Anyone know where to get small kiddies gloves? DD is 2, and the baby mittens you get in the hat sets for her age are too small for her hands. We tried children's magic gloves, but they are too big. She had one pair of tiny magic gloves from last year. They fit, but we've nothing else if she gets them wet...
Do you know anyone who could knit her some?

"Yak Trax" shoe grippers @ the ready in anticipation of any snow n ice! (haven't used them really as not much snow n ice since I bought them!)

I bought some a couple of years ago, and my parents were so impressed with them that they went and bought some last year. I was so pleased because when they go to get their car from the garage they have to walk along footpaths that don't get salted in the ice and snow, and I fully expected a phone call saying one of them had fallen. Thankfully they used them every time they went out and were fine.

Sorry to disagree but I honestly don't think anyone is too young (once an adult), especially if they have children / are married / have a partner etc (or even just pets!).

*off to catch up from where I left - why do I always start reading at the end:o*

You are quite right, I do need a will, but the free will service is for over 55s over, so I am too young to qualify for the free will service - I've edited my post to clarify :o I think it's because I wandered off to facebook to put it on there, where I did manage to say the free will is only for over 55s... :o

I need to speak to my sister and her husband again before making a will - they had said they would be happy to be put as guardians for the boys if anything happened to then-DH & I - but now sis&hubbie have 1 young child & another on the way, and DS2 is harder work... I need to be sure they'd know what they would be letting themselves in for.

Apparently some unions, including mine, offer cheap/free will making, so will find out more & get sorted.

It's amazing really how actually getting round to doing a will lifts a weight off your mind. I had no idea how much it had been bothering me until I did it!

Mine was £126 which included a few consultations and storage of the original indefinitely. With a local solicitor. It covers guardianship for the children also, as I am a widow (and thankfully my DH did have a will, so I know first hand how important it is) x

We'll I'm going to make a list of what I have/need for this winter store cupboard. I really have one this year so gonna spen the week sorting it out. I've alrealy started buying UHT milk - I have 4 litres.....need another couple. And my superstar of a dad has bought me an early Christmas gift - a chest freezer!!!:D Only small but my friend has one & I'm amazed at how much meat she fitted into hers. So it's coming on Tuesday so I'll pop to Aldi towards the end of the week to buy some diced beef for copious amounts of lobsouce & mince/chicken breasts and I'll get some pork & lam the week after.

If it does snow I'm 2 miles walk from the nearest shop......which I don't mind. But that's downhill so walking back with any goodies I will have will be terrible in snow so I'd rather get some thing in the freezer!!!
