Fruball, I spotted those sheets in our local Lidl today! Unfortunately they only had red, and in single size but you might be lucky in your local. (They are described as fitted jersey btw) I'd also like a heads up if anyone spots them in stock again please :)
Another vote for the AirAmbulance here, in my opinion, together with the RNLI they are the true heroes of our time.
(Glad I'm not the only one having a sneaky lie-in too, thanks everyone ;))

Can I give a little plug for the various Air Ambulances :)

My Dad, my Brother and a friend were both in a serious motorbike accident, a tractor pulled out on them. My Dad unfortunately passed away at the scene of the accident, but my Brother was air lifted to hospital. They were brilliant with him (this was the Midlands Air Ambulance) Their friend was also airlifted to a different hospital.
My Brother's going in a few weeks to have a look at the air ambulance and meet the people who saved his life.

I didn't know much about them before this happened to us, but the work they all do is fantastic! They are also only funded by donations no goverment backing at all.

My thoughts are with you at this very difficult time.

*sorry for hijacking the thread :)*

So sorry to hear about your Dad :( What an absolute tragedy.

I don't think anyone will mind you hijacking the thread for something like that. Hope your brother and his friend are making a full recovery.

I am amazed so many people had either never heard of them, or described them as 'passion killers' and rather revolting. Do all retailers describe them as 'brushed cotton' now - I've seen them in Tesc0, but I'm not convinced they're exactly the same thing.

They are not passion killers in our bedroom I can assure you ;):p

Sometimes I think they are referred to as brushed cotton. John Lewis has always had them as flannelette from recollection though!!

emalou88 what an absolute tragedy - I can only say I am so sorry. My DH is part of the emergency services and one of their hardest jobs is having to go and break the news to loved ones. It may look as though they are cool as cucumbers on the outside, but on the in, it affects them just as much and more often than not gives them personal moments of reflection as well.

  • Emmalou I'd like to add my thoughts to the others'. MSE is so supportive, carry on posting and asking for support from strangers if and when you need as the grieving process is never a short one. I hope you also have lots of friends and family to offer you direct hands on and hugs support at the moment too xxxx

I hope thay my friends on this thread don't mind me passing on this email that I've just received:
    Icy conditions
A government warning said that anyone travelling in icy conditions should take a shovel, blankets or sleeping bag, extra clothing including a scarf hat and gloves.
Also a 24 hour supply of food and drink, a de-icer , rock salt, torch & spare batteries. In addition they should take a Safety triangle, tow rope , full petrol can, first aid kit & jump leads...
I felt a right prat on the bus this morning...
