that will be double or triple no snow then up here in Scotland :D

bit chilly but to be expected in January

Makes a change for us to be snow free up here while the South of England gets it eh? :)

A bit nippy up here in the Highlands.:D But the fire and stove are roaring and we are well stocked with coal and have a whole woodshed that's full to bursting.

Kittie I've seen some of your posts about the predicted snowfall. I really hope you don't get snowed in again. Was it really for 6 weeks???? OMG That is unreal!!

yes and no bin collections the whole time and no post for most of that time. We are in a valley with little uphill lanes that don`t get gritted. I am always well prepared though, this year I even have enough chocolate and a new hobby (spinning) so am hoping to enjoy any enforced time in. Got to make the best of it

Rather you than me. Where you not able to leave the house at all for that whole time?

I have decent stores but it would be hard to plan for 6 weeks of complete isolation eh? _pale_ What if there had been a medical emergency. I think that's what would worry me if the weather was that bad.

God knows we get extreme weather up here on the West Coast but I don't know anyone who's been cut off for that long. :(

Hope you have enough chocolate to see you through :D.

yes masses of chocolate, every time ethical superstore had a 25% off session, I bought a whole box of divine choc bars, I kid you not. No, going outside was treacherous, snow plough came through but that made the lane worse. I went out a couple of times but was dangerous but have bought special boots since then so will get into the lane at least.

Re medical problem, no prob really as our gp lives next door and I am pretty handy re med stuff. Not going on the ice minimises the chances of us getting a broken limb anyway

4 x 4s with winter tyres got out, land rovers mainly

Am expecting 3 weeks this time, maybe
  • I have a 'thing' for buying 100% wool scarfs. I must own about 20 so the the next couple of days I am going to sew them all together to use as a blanket on the sofa.
Have made two into draft excluders that has worked well.

it's been snowing where i am in fife all day, only light accumulation but the sky is screaming more snow and it's predicted by both of my regular weather sites for this evening

was having alll manner of trouble getting warm today, accu weather says it's 0C but a real feel of -14C no wonder i'm so cold!

actually i rather like them they give us our local weather rather than stuff from 10 miles away, we're in a wind tunnel and they account for that and other variables in their 'real feel'

i hope everyone stays safe and as warm as possible

I was thinking more of life threatening emergencies. I expect if you're snowed in an ambulance won't be able to get through :(.

Hope your predictions don't come true about it being 3 weeks. :)

They'd get the helicoptor and mountain rescue out and you'd probably be at hospital quicker than waiting for a regular ambulance.

I'm always happy to donate to the Air Ambulance: heroes!
