Thanks for the weather warnings. Forewarned is forearmed!
I don't know why I've never noticed before but the door to my flat lets in quite a draught. I've decided to do something about it before [STRIKE]the marathon[/STRIKE] work begins again on Monday. It's a wooden door with very small gaps around where panels slot in.Would a curtain (have fleece to line it) or some tape be better?
I'd go with both if you can.
When you say small gaps where the panels slot in, I am not sure exactly what you mean... is it the sort of small gaps that you could perhaps fill with a silicone that dries clear?0 -

Thanks :-) As you may have gathered, I don't have a head for everyday practicalities. Thank goodness for all of you!0 -
If you have or want to put a bookcase on an outer wall put a container of salt or one of those dehumidifier eggs if you have one on the bookcase near the wall and check maybe once a week. It'll save your books but also keep the warmth in the room.CC2 = £8687.86 ([STRIKE]£10000[/STRIKE] )CC1 = £0 ([STRIKE]£9983[/STRIKE] ); Reusing shopping bags savings =£5.80 vs spent £1.05.Wine is like opera. You can enjoy it even if you don't understand it and too much can give you a headache the next day J0

Just trying to stock up on a few bits as have been living off stock cuboard and freezer for the last month or so. Realising with the colder weather coming i might need to restock on a few things just in case - at least i have space in freezer

Weather Action
Extreme cold, blizzards and snow drifts "many feet deep" to bring chaos to England and Wales for at least three weeks - into early Feb
· WeatherAction forecast issued ahead of all others
This catastrophic forecast scenario was first issued in detail in mid-December by WeatherAction long range forecasters and is now starting to come true. "Other forecasters are just starting to agree with us three weeks late but they don’t realize how severe this is going to be", said Piers Corbyn, astrophysicist of WeratherAction.com

There is something very strange piercing through the window this morning.... I do believe it to be sunshine..... All the daffs are now up, I am hoping they wont get too much of a shock if the temp plummets over the next few days, although somehow I think we will be ok down here in Cornwall:jThriftkitten

IT'S SNOWING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
real honest to goodness, snow you can actually watch falling, not the stealth snow we've had for this year and last winter
mind you it's only very very tiny flakes, i had to get close to the window so be certain it wasn't rain but it's really snowing!
now just another 24 hours of this and maybe my daughter can go sledging :rotfl:0
