Guess you don't have much in the way of electrical appliances then or do much cooking etc.

Wow! That's nothing! I use about 11 units a day - there is no difference at weekends. We are a household of three adults - one is a pensioner who is at home all of the time and I work various hours including weekends.
  • 1kw per day, that must just be for lighting a small bed sit. No fridge / freezer or washing machine then?

We use 9/10 kw per day for 4 adults and are low users.
Washing machine on every day and cooked dinner. All the usual...

Why would you want to know? How could you possibly compare to someone else unless you had exactly the same number and type of appliances and used them in exactly the same way?

  • 2 units a day every day.
  • An electric fire takes 3kw if you have it on full for 1 hour..
A kettle is often 3kw but then is on/off all day.

  • We've just had a shock with our consumption ..... our direct debit has shot up £60 per month (dual fuel) and the reason is our electricity is sky high .....

Our average daily consumption is 32kw per day!!!!!!!! Been told average is between 10-11!! So we have been using 3 times the amount!!!

We have used 11739 in the year! Average is 4000! Crikey!!!!!

Two teenagers are the main culprits ...... so after a lot of moaning and screaming this morning hopefully this is going to go down with immediate effect!!!

Have paid a lump sum to our energy supplier to get direct debits back down to a manageable amount monthly ......
  • wife and 2 kids under 10, 3bed semi, and we use about 10-12 a day and maybe up to 15 on wknds with washer on and tumble drier use if raining!!
