oh & for the newbies the best advice I can give you is that I keep a wee change pot & my DS & I put our small change in it.
I use that for wee purchases & if someone comes to the door for a collection.
I dont count food or petrol unless I go over budget.
What Im trying to do is cut out or down really my danger spending~meeting friends for coffee & buying sweets.
    Hope this helps~HTH.

  • Thanks for the info beanielou :) I'm thinking I may have to rethink what my NSDs actually involve (or don't involve! ;)) My first week has gone to pot unfortunately, and I doubt very much Sat or Sun will be NSDs :( I do have a cash budget for every week which includes food and petrol, so may have to aim to stick to that, and just cut out the 'wee' silly spends on myself, like the coffee and treats. I can't really help it if OH texts me on way home from work to bring milk or bread or something! :p

Thanks for the advice beanielou. I've been trying to count everything (except DDs which leave my account anyway) but some days I have to catch the bus which is my only spend. As I don't drive I have no choice. But I think I'm going to stop counting necessary bus journeys until I have a job and therefore by a more economical monthly pass. Yesterday I did do other spending but shouldn't have to spend again until Monday hopefully!
