In the past 6 years or so Motability changed from requiring you to get your tax disc from the Post Office (the ones with 00.00 and disabled on them) to managing the tax disc as a fleet. These days Motability cars all have a 'fleet' tax disc.0 -
I find it hard to believe that people go peering at their neighbours' cars to check on whether they have a disabled tax disc. Surely there are more interesting pastimes?C'est le ton qui fait la chanson0

To someone who is affected by their condition all the time, what is a good day and what is bad?
Are disabled peoples good days different to able bodied peoples normal days?
I have good and bad days.
My good days are nothing like a normal person's good days but I can still describe how I am affected when filling in the DLA form in terms of both good and bad.
When you are in pain every day, even that fluctuates so some days it is worse than others. If every day is the same with no good and bad, then you fill out the form as such. There is something delicious about writing the first words of a story. In cases where the weight of medical evidence is overwhelming and the condition is incurable or degenerative and the person is not expected to adapt or get any better at managing or coping with their illness/disability.
I think it is cruel to keep re-assessing people. Especially if the process causes them worry or distress or the assessment process it self is likely to be detrimental to their health or due to their health they are going to struggle to comply with the assessment process, or not be able to comply with the assessment process.
I have a degenerative condition and was awarded indefinite DLA. I was then offered some treatment which saw a slight improvement. At that point, I contacted DWP and, although my award level hasn't changed, the length of award has.
Now, the improvement didn't last but had I been given a lifetime award, with a successful longterm outcome and chosen not to contact DWP, I could have been in the position of claiming DLA forever.

There is no such thing as a lifetime award.
'indefinite' means that.
It means that there is no predetermined end to your award.
Your condition can be redetermined at any time.0 -
There were "life awards", though according to the DWP, they did not mean "for life". According to them, none has anyway been made since 12 January 2000. DWP spokespersons of course continue to say "lifetime", and politicians, "for life", without being corrected.

I think from 2000, also, some on "lifetime awards" were moved to "indefinite" awards.0 -

I was pointing out to people who go on and on about good and bad days that it's not actually that easy to distinguish them for some people.
As I said, once you have had a condition for a certain amount of time, do what were once considered bad days revert to being good days as after that period of time you should be able to accept that each day is goig to be that bad.
Where is the criteria to say what is a bad and good day?[SIZE=-1]To equate judgement and wisdom with occupation is at best . . . insulting.
