feels like the worlds worst mum

yesterday i fell down the stairs and have done something to my ankle. I cant put any weight on it at all. I am going to the hospital tonight.

My children have had to walk to school on their own, I am so worried. They have a phone so they can ring me when they get there.

How old are they and how far away is the school? Are there any busy roads to cross? If they are young and the route is dangerous perhaps you could pay for a taxi?

    I've been Money Tipped!
Why not ring the school and check they got there ok, I am presuming that if they have a phone they are not little dots.

Hope your ankle gets better soon
  • You're not a bad mum because you hurt yourself, don't be silly! You're doing the best you can in a situation that's not ideal for anyone.

How old are they and what's the route like?

I wouldn't wait until tonight - go now, and get it seen to. Phone the school and make them aware - if it's a small school they will know a mum who can probably walk back with them this evening.

When mine were dots I worked and didn't know any mums - the school are brilliant at organising for you - and later when I stopped working the secretary would often approach those of us that were about and give us the heads up if someone needed a bit of support.

There will probably be someone going right past your door - it's just knowing who it is.

    Now, get yourself to hospital!

Do you have a class PTA rep? They normally know everyone and might know someone who is going back your way and can take the kids with them. Most people are always willing to help when they know someone is having a hard time.
