Sky Anytime plus questions please

The Homeplugs will give you a remote port from your router wherever you plug the receiver in. You then use an ordinary ethernet cable to connect to the Sky+ HD box.Time has moved on (much quicker than it used to - or so it seems at my age) and my previous advice on residential telephony has been or is now gradually being overtaken by changes in the retail market. Hence, I have now deleted links to my previous 'pearls of wisdom'. I sincerely hope they helped save some of you money.0

Just been looking on the Sky site seems I can have Anytime plus on just the Sky plus that I have, but it says I need a compatible black Sky plus box (I have a white one at the moment), so wondering now whether to stay with Sky plus with same cost as HD has not got me hooked yet, or is there anything else I will miss out on apart from the HD programs?
So if I were to stay with Sky plus can anybody direct me to which black box I need for Anytime plus, on Ebay for example, so I can see what one it is?
What happens if I get a Sky HD box but stay on Sky plus, will it work or am I asking a silly question?0 -
The black box is more commonly known as the HD box. You dont need to subscribe to HD though. I have sky + but with the HD box I can watch BBC, ITV, C4, 5 in HD at no extra cost.
It looks like you can upgrade boxes through sky. Use the self set up if you are able to swap the connectors around in the back.
There is a discussion on wireless etc

Anytime plus is being renamed 'On Demand', and yes you need a compatible Sky+HD box with an Ethernet port it, and broadband connection to get it.
Those of us with the newer boxes are waiting for next months upgrade that will provide catch up TV from the Sky Channels together with ITVplayer and Demand 5, BBC iPlayer will come on line shortly and 4 OD will join in early 2013.That gum you like is coming back in style.0 -

I have this set up and it works just fine. I bought homeplugs with triple ethernet outlets and so I've been able to connect my Smart TV and Blu-Ray player to the internet. It means I already have access to BBC iPlayer (as well as Facebook and Skype) via the television!0 -
