7.5kg lasts my 2 (and the 2 stealing neighbours cats) over 6 months and even my fussy one eats it and she point black refuses to eat supermarket cat dry food.
  • Ermmm - that is what I am feeding them wet food wise....

I am looking for reccomendation of dry but thanks

I know your looking for dry food recommendations, I'm just offering advice. If you read any forums re: feline diabetes, you will get a good picture of why I don't advocate the feeding of dry food to cats.

Also, cats don't intake much water, however, wet food provides this.

Obviously it's your choice, I'm just suggesting you read up on feeding your cats dry food.

I am feeding a MIXTURE of both dry and wet, not dry alone....

Any idea? How much per say 1kg of body weight of a cat? Got 27kg of cats at home.. sigh.... LOL

I just had a hunt as quite interested in this too - both my cats fall into the 5+kg category so according to PAH website (http://www.petsathome.com/shop/dry-cat-food-chicken-by-applaws-29204) it would be between 60-100g / day so, say 150g / 2 of them = 50 days for a 7.5kg bag :(

    Porta 21 Sensible: 27kg = 350g a day or 10.5kg every 30 days = ~£30 a month. I think. :o

I'm probably going to get shot down in flames for this but I feed all mine Indoor Go Cat.

I think it's about £4.72 per bag and it lasts my three (big) cats for two weeks so about £10 per month isn't bad really.

BUT I do also feed wet food....Butcher's classic mainly because it's cheap but it's also less rich then whiskers which is definitely a good thing when they use the tray

I (usually) feed my cats Feline Fayre Simply Complete Menu (hope this link works) http://www.mysupermarket.co.uk/#/brands/feline_fayre_in_asda.html

It's on offer in Asda at £2.00 for a 950g bag at the moment. Not as good as the Porta, but looks reasonably ok and a lot cheaper. You probably know, but Classic is on offer in Asda at £2.50 for 6 tins at the moment. Sainsbury's are selling a 12 pack for £5.20. HTH
  • I have 4 cats too and I feed them Purina One (complete dry food) and a 3kg bag lasts about 10 days. They are currently £10 a bag in Tesco, come in 2 different flavours.
