  • So here we are one week in and the YBS money manager still isn't working properly. The performance is still poor (even late in the evening), the account categories are still incorrect (and can't be fixed because the edit function doesn't appear) and my Mint credit cards are still not working (even though I can log into them via the troubleshooter with no problems).

The first time I tried to send a support message I got an error. The second time I was successful but all that YBS could do was to send me this really poor generic "switch-it-off-and-on-again" message:

    Dear Mr xx

An update on Money Manager issues

Thank you for notifying us of the problems you have been experiencing with our Money Manager service, via the Troubleshooter. These issues have been investigated and we have made a number of changes to the service.

In view of these changes we would ask that you log-in again to Money Manager. If you continue to experience issues, please utilise the Troubleshooter and we will review and come back to you as soon as we can resolve your issue.

If you have any queries or require further assistance, please contact us on 0845 166 9330*, where our team will be happy to help. Don't forget, you will need your online password when you call. Alternatively, you can also send us a secure message from your online account.

Please accept our apologies for any inconvenience you may have been caused.

    Yours sincerely

satsu, which browser are you using? YBS MM in FF is working a lot better for me now (IE I find useless still) - can edit everything that is supposed to be editable. I was advised to download the plugin again (involves removing any existing plugin, closing down browser, logging in agai etc etc - but was worth it to get things to work a bit better).

Not sure it would solve your problem with the Mint credit card though.

That response from Nick Gander was incredibly poor. If YBS strive for the '2012 worst Customer Service award', they are doing really well, though. May be ask again, you might get a response from somebody who understand your issues, and cares about customer satisfaction.
  • Thanks innovate but it's the same result on IE9 and Firefox. Money manager works ok (albeit very slowly) with the exception of Mint which just doesn't load. Using the troubleshooter I can go into Mint with no problems so it's clearly a problem within MM.

As for the mail, I wouldn't have minded an honest reponse saying that they're working through lots of mails and will get around to looking at my issue. What was especially bad was their suggestion that they aren't even going to bother reading the error reports that their customers have taken the time to send in and it's up to us to send them again!

Logged on this morning to my YBS account. Moneymanager gave me a message saying that it recognised I was registered for external accounts. Informed me I had to download a file (the digital password safe) and as the say "Bobs your Uncle" .. all now works fine. All my accounts are once again displayed!

Good luck to everyone else getting theirs back too!

    Keep saving!
  • Oh yes, I am on winXP and IE 8
  • The password safe for Safari will not download
  • For the life of me I seem unable to get the download off YBS website. I used EMM for ages but after the transfer to YBS I am unable to view external accounts.

After reading this very useful forum topic I have registered with AccountUnity and all is working fine.

I just can't understand why the download simply fails coming from YBS. If I manage to set up AccountUnity without switching off Anti-Virus and fiddling with Active-X (which YBS support propose) the YBS IT folks must have missed something.

BTW I am told by YBS to use Firefox but that really is not what I want or should have to do.
  • What MacOS version are you using? I found 10.6 (Snow Leopard) worked OK but 10.8 (Mountain Lion) didn't work both using the same Safari version.
I had to find the install program in the Downloads but once installed the screen just went round and round.

Has anyone who has used the AccountUnity service rather than YBS managed to migrate their profile or have you had to start from scratch?

I ask as I see on the AccountUnity FAQ pages that there is apparently the facility in their software to store your profile on a floppy disk or IBM USB for migrating or using on another machine. However, given they are referring to a floppy disk I am not sure how up to date the site is ... :)

I ask as I need to format my hard drive due to a virus messing up all my settings and would ideally like to migrate my information (as I cannot remember half the log in details :( )

    Many thanks

I use both, the YBS MM and Accountunity. I had to type all the login information into Accountunity from scratch because there is no "save to drive" in the YBS version (and there wasn't one in EMM). I haven't yet tried the 'floppy' but some Accountunity guy assured me that you could use any external storage media attached to your PC, and thereby make your data mobile.

I'm afraid, it sounds you have a big job sorting out your login details.

You could try and contact the Accountunity techies and ask them whether there is another way to port the info.
