Egg Money migration...or not....

Eggs Money Mgr worked most of the time, but now its moved to YBS its a bit flakey. What's the best browser to use? And, do I need to clear the cache or delete any cookies? Please help, someone.
Having had a YBS account in the past, I'm glad my money is going back there in a way. They were such a friendly bunch and they seem to be doing well when all the banks are struggling finacially.
I'm sure the Money Mgr problems are just teething problems. It took a while to get it working when it first launched at Egg. Fingers crossed!
By the look of tonights performance, it also looks as though YBS have fixed the web speed issue, at last.
Come on YBS, I can't live without my Money Mgr!0 -
Works with Firefox as well as IE9, before it was just the latter. Still only 32 bit version though as far as I can tell.0

...and with Chrome too. Though a bit of fannying about downloading the password safe.
Seems to be working ok for me now, after horrendous teething probs. Will stick with it till/unless it implodes.0 -

Are you able to edit your existing accounts?0 -
Er - how else do you normally change your mobile phone number if not by calling and having it changed to a mobile of your choice?!
Ps - checked accounts this morning and paid a bill this afternoon and had no problems whatsoever - maybe it's your connection?
I think the point I'm trying to make is they have used patently insrecure information versus your Egg credentials to transfer your account. This morning when I have come to transfer it after waiting 24hrs for my phone number to update I've discovered they didn't have a valid email address on file for me. What they had in fact was an email address that was from when someone tried to open an account with YBS in my name about 8 months ago (this was closed as it was ID'd as fraudalant). So it looks like the migration software people have gone through the YBS systems and tried to link Egg people up with any info they already hold (very very bad). In short they have not used my valid Egg credentials, i.e. phone number, email or much else for that matter. Obviously this is serious and as I say and suggests they are pretty much clueless. Allegedly someone senior is going to get back to me today.
So to sum up if the previous Mr Fraudster had thought about it, they could have banged in my name and address which they already had obviously. The phone number would have been the one they tried to setup the fake account with 8 months ago, i.e. their number, the validation email address was theirs as well and bobs your uncle instant access to our cash. Or have I got that wrong?
If you want to bank with them go ahead. I'm not after coming withing a hairs breadth of being cleaned out. Whoever designed that migration logic should be sacked. In our company I would be out of the door instantly!!!0 -
I do wonder though - is saving login details to the registry the safest idea in the world? Previously, the EMM had a 'password safe'.
This question refers to AccountUnity. I have in the meantime checked with the developers and am being told that the password store is indeed stored in the Window Registry, but in an encrypted form. They state further that " The safe is an encrypted blob of data that can only be decrypted once you have logged into the system and the encryption key downloaded by the component the system uses to access the safe. Reading the registry directly is useless without getting the key from the server"
I understand this is the same in AccountUnity, the FD, and the YBS implementation of Money Manager.
The AccountUnity implementation also allows storing the safestore on portable devices. That is USB (and floppy) devices that are mounted as drives. If you plug in a USB device before logging in it should be listed in the dropdown list. FS and YBS do not offer that option, so if you move PC, you would have to type all your data in again.
I have now done loads of playing about with all 3 implementations - YBS, FD and AccountUnity. Here's my findings:
YBS- totally unable to edit accounts (e.g. to correct the incorrect account classification, to change login data etc) in IE. Seems to be working ok in FF as of today
- awkward presentation -data not all on one page if you have plenty of accounts
- unable to change order of presentation
- unable to edit organisation name
- slow
- multiple browsers supported
- cannot back up safestore
- to delete entire safestore, you have to delete entries one by one
- bank accounts and credit cards only
- ongoing availability is promised
- awkward presentation - MM opens in tiny window that you always have to re-size
EDIT [with thanks to Reaper]: can bookmark https://internetbankingplus1.firstdi...omePage_10.jsp , which opens as full-size window - unable to change order of presentation
- unable to edit organisation name
- Doesn't log in at NS&I and YBS (no error msg, just won't work)
- Doesn't work with Nationwide (error: "you may only use letters, numbers and punctuations" - - no idea how to correct this)
- unable to use for accounts of more than one person (at least for some organisations)
- bank accounts and credit cards, some utilities and other firms
- only IE supported
- to delete entire safestore, you have to delete entries one by one
- cannot back up safestore
- quite slow
- unsure about ongoing availability
- no-frills presentation; easy to re-order organisations
- can edit organisation name
- only IE supported
- fastest of the 3
- largest number of companies available (bank accounts and credit cards, some utilities and other firms)
- can delete entire safestore in a single transaction
- can back up safestore to portable device
- unsure about ongoing availability

Try Firefox, all MM functions working for me there - - though I did remove the plugin I had downloaded on Monday, and pulled it again from the YBS server.
I haven't tried Chrome and Opera recently, but MM in IE definitely doesn't work properly yet.0 -
Interesting comparison. Just to let you know...FD- awkward presentation - MM opens in tiny window that you always have to re-size
- Doesn't work with Nationwide (error: "you may only use letters, numbers and punctuations" - - no idea how to correct this)
You can avoid having a popup box at all so no resizing required if you bookmark the login page so you go there directly:
https://internetbankingplus1.firstdirect.com/ibplus/homePage_10.jsp
In fact I have it as my Home page as it is the only thing I use IE for.
I can access my Nationwide account with no problems. Try re-entering your account details, maybe you copied and pasted an invalid character such as CR.
I was also surprised to see you say it was slow, I find it much faster than the old Egg MM used to be. I also like being able to have longer descriptions compared to the old EMM.
EDIT: Also like only updating the info on request instead of every time I log on.0 -

It's a really strange one - it works fine when I press the "test login" button. But as soon as I go to "get account information", I get that msg. Giving up on it now....I can access my Nationwide account with no problems. Agree, it is faster than EMM, and YBS MM, but AccountUnity is fastest for me.0
