The pears are back in town - reloaded shelves and loads and loads.
    Bought another 20 tins.

Asda Benton - tins Smart Price chopped tomatoes - 10p to clear - tins slightly grubby, hence clearance.

    I've been Money Tipped!
I've decided to start my Charity Donation of £100 for grocery and toiletries etc to start from October 1st 2012 - September 30th 2013.
I should have enough stuff at the 30th September 2013 to get through to the end of 2013.
I'll be buying basic stuff now from Monday and an area unknown to myself really.
Anything in the value range to avoid??
Plan is to donate 2 boxes per month.

Ocado doing the Lenor Pure Care Sensitive 1.4L for 1.68 to 09/10 and
Moo organic UHT milk 1L £1 buy 2 get 3rd free to 09/10
  • I was visiting a friend, so thought I'd check if some lenor nearer my place.

When I do a search on mysupermarket like this http://www.mysupermarket.co.uk/#/Shopping/FindProducts.aspx?Query=lenor%20pure%20care I find signed in at home just brings up normal pure care in the rectangular containers. But the large one with the handle is available from my friends place. 230371.jpg

Are you shopping across all shops?

I tried the Tesco Value/ED tinned custard(17p), thought it was really depressing, but then took a gamble and tried the dried sachet one you knock up(6p), was near enough like Birds, even when made up with milk powder. Would be great to go with those pears :)
  • I was thinking the other day, that I would add some ASDA smartprice shaving foam 26p and 10 pack maxi sanitary towels 14p to my basket. In some ways these could be more important than the food items.

Yes, I've got access to the BIG 4 and also B&M, Home Bargains, Lild, Aldi etc.
I'll get some biscuits from Aldi/Lidl and Sainsbury's tea-bags next week.

Looking at The Trussell Trust website the nearest foodbank to me is 40 miles away so not feasible for me to donate.

Well done to all those who are donating :T

Salvation Army do them. Also most hostels do outreach with the open and eat food and toiletries for those they can not accommodate.

Tesco Value Cornflakes are 31p per box. Sainsbury's same price, but looks like a bag??
I'll get some basics this week and donate a box on Wednesday and then again 2 weeks later.
Another way of saving is with till spits. I often get £4 off £20 at Sainsbury's, so I could get £20 of basics etc. and maybe blend in a few freebies with coupons and get more ............ £4 more.
That would be 2 months budget spent in one hit, but would give a stash to donate in coming months.

Sorry, I'm thinking too much on how to maximise. :o:o

We don't have pets .............. well apart from our recent mouse (another story) and lots of coupons for pet stuff could be used and freebies could also be donated along with toiletries.

So when my budget starts tomorrow I'll buy so far:
    Tesco cornflakes 31p
    Tesco tinned rice pudding 12p
    Tesco custard powder 6p
    Tesco ketchup 19p
    Lidl/Aldi biscuits

I've got loads of beans, mushy peas, Green's stuff, tinned pears, tinned chopped tomatoes etc. to bulk out the box.

I'm going to enjoy looking at the basics, but don't really want to buy and donate whet I would definitely not eat myself. I'm going to taste/try the custard powder and tinned rice.
