  • We've got a new food bank operated by local churches.

Today I picked up a pack of two Jamaican Ginger Cakes for £1.00 in Iceland.

The large tubs of Heinz beans are £1.00 too - The fridge pack ones.

Great idea for a thread BTW!

37 tins of 15p pears and 20 tins of free Heinz 5 Beanz, plus 8 Green's Pancake Mix and 8 tins of Asda 4p mushy peas to add to "stash".
Some of the pears I'll keep, probably the rest will be donated as I already have loads of Green's Pancake Mix (10p when using 40p coupon).

Many thanks again for the pears tip and the recipes - 42 tins so far.

For some cheap Colgate stuff, check this post HERE

A 75p coupon and Colgate Plax is only £1 in Morries until 30/09, so only 25p with coupon - problems with coupon scanning, but easily put through manually. Use it as many times as you want.
It can be used also on Colgate Total toothpaste and handy when offers are on.

Thank you - my kids loved tinned pears!!!
  • Morning everyone

Managed to get 4 tins of pears yesterday as well as 2 heinz beans. Trying to fit it into my £40 a week grocery spend so I can't go over board:D.

Taking a trip to Tesco this morning for a coupon shop but may grab a few of the mushy peas as previously mentioned. We won't eat them I don't think so will add it to the food bank pile.

Also found a bargain yesterday:j. Superdrug 2-6 year toothbrushes are half price so only 45p :D. Managed to get a couple for DS but may get some more for the women's refuge box.

Found out on Monday that my local church is doing the xmas shoebox appeal again. Here is a list for anyone considering doing it this year. Think the Salvation Army normally do this as well as other churches.

Toys including soft toys, puppets, jigsaw, blocks, musical instruments, etc.
Educational Supplies including pens, crayons, paper, erasers, pencil sharpeners, puzzle books etc.
Hygiene Items including toothbrushes, toothpaste, hairbrush, comb, hair clips, soap, flannel, etc.
Other items including sweets, gloves, scarf, sunglasses, hat, bangles and necklaces.

The age groups are 2-4, 5-9 and 10-14 boy and girl. Many thanks if anyone contributes :A
