I got a link inviting me to upgrade my iPhone 4 to IOS 6. I went ahead. Since then my phone has been completely broken. It will not switch on or off and just has a flashing Apple. I've attempted to Restore but that did not work. The phone is entirely ruined. I am disgusted. Beware this scam.

A Blackberry, an SGII, and an iphone4....you're either incredibly lucky, or a total wind up merchant. Judging by your comments on other threads...I'm currently favouring the latter.0

to be honest I genuinely do have these 3 phones. You could have these kinds of phones too if you really want to.
anyway, do you have an answer to my actual thread?0

An answer to what? You haven't asked anything?0

He probably hasn't, given that your thread was an utterly ridiculous mini-rant and it has dubious origins in truth.
Go to Apple and see if they can help you but don't expect help on here when you label a mass Apple update a 'scam'. It clearly isn't, regardless of the 'issues' you have experienced.Personal ISA Contributions Challenge - current £0 (as at 1 April 2014) / target £15,000 (deadline 31 Mar 2015)0

I can install iOS6 on my iPad but I'm not going to do so.. I like google maps too much. I don't want to lose them
I guess you have only one option.. your local Apple shop. It's quite disturbing that you cannot recover failed OS installation. I know I get the backup on iCloud but it applies to the apps installed not to the OS itself i think. I wouldn't be happy if that happened to me.0

Doesn't look like I'm the only unsuspecting customer who has been scammed by Apple/Steve Jobs' ghost. This is really not on

I don't think many need to tell you how idiotic that is
No sympathy from my camp I'm afraid, what ever happened to common sense ?0

Was this an official link from Apple?0

You posted a link to an apple forum discussion from Wed 19th, the day of io6 release. Probably the busiest time for people updating. I updated late in the evening myself and found it extremely slow, in fact my phone showed a 4 hour timescale so I left it updating and went to sleep. Your link showed no more than than the rants of users on a busy, slow night of updates. Please don't take people for idiots0
