I've just been a bit naughty and bought myself 4 tops in the grabbit per una sale with an extra 20% off code and to absolve the guilt I'm happy with the prices! 1 is daywear, 2 are day to night wear in classic styles, if they fit that is and the last one is more night out style.

Also got mum 2 for christmas presents which I'll have to see if they fit her when they arrive and if so, then her present hamper is practically completed :j

    Original rrp £145
    Sale cost £40 for 6 tops including 20% off :D - that's how I look!

LL - oh dear, hope you feel better soon - as for me I think I might feel a tiny bit better today probably more to do with not doing a thing for a day or so. Will see how I feel when I get back from returning a uni book in a bit to reassess properly

    Morning all,

mineallmine - Love Anti-Movember :rotfl:I must admit I can quite lazy with the defuzzing in winter, especially on the legs - I kind of figure that no one will see them as I always wear pants or really thick tights. I guess can try and make the effort :)

Cherry - the Nano website does seem really up and down! Was down for a bit yesterday afternoon then they were meant to have got it all sorted and seemed fine last night some people have been complaining it's off againt this morning - bit disorganised! How did you get on yesterday?

allie - great news on the teaching job :) Maybe keep some clients but cut it down a bit? (I don't know how many you do at the moment).

bratz - that's just it, I feel like his mother half the time and it really frustrates me! We would like kids at some point, and it is something that puts me off a bit as I feel like rather then him supporting me I'd just end with two kids instead of one

LL - the dresses sound lovely, some nice bright clothes for winter! See, with my OH, I don't expect him to do a great deal, I'm not one of those who needs a perfectly tidy house all the time, and I try not to say anything if I know he's been out all day - but when I know he's been in all day it annoys me that he does absolutely nothing. Fair enough he does work from home - but I basically work all day, come home and then start on my 'own' work so it's not like I'm doing nothing and yet I have to fit the basics in at least! Sorry, rant over :rotfl:Hope you shift the lurghy soon x

So, started on Nano last night - not until about 8pm mind :rotfl:- but think it went ok, just over 3k word count for the first day so I can live with that! OH is meeting his mum and dad to go and watch a band tonight, not sure if I'm going or not yet - will see if I've managed my word count for the day by then! Have Monday off so will be nice to have a bit of a long weekend - even if it's going to be a busy one. Just wishing it was 5pm now - there were meant to be two part time people in today and as yet none of them have shown up :( Is a bit weird, one of them is fairly unreliable so not too unexpected for her (she was meant to be coming in today to catch up on her work from being off loads over the last few weeks!) but the other guy is normally quite good and can't understand why neither would have rung in!
Hope everyone is having a good day x

My declutter challenge is helping me use up toiletries that are kicking around taking up space. So far today a face mask and a hair mask thing that I've been fabbing with. It's also making me more active in short bursts. And of course it's fabbing the house.

Glad to see people buying nice clothes. Don't forget to pass any old or unloved items from your wardrobe to local charities/ebay etc. So someone else benefits from your bargain in a way :)
:) Declutter 300 things in December challenge, 9/300. Clear the living room. Re-organize storage

Just back from an expensive morning out - first the vets for a check up and boosters £65:eek:, then took the top back to Zara and got £25 back (towards the vet) and then a sprint around Asda as I had the dog with me and then a quick whizz around the park with the dog. None of that even counts towards the 100km challenge as its stuff I'd do anyway - it has to be on top of normal daily routines.
At least its a nice day and we can get out for a good walk later.

LL - sorry to hear that you're poorly - rest up and recover!
PP - i must admit my house was much easier to keep clean and manage once I'd chucked the exOH out (not that I'm suggesting you do that!):rotfl:

Was listening to the radio in the car and there was a phone in on being single in middle age (which they classed as 45-60!). They were asking are you lonely and do you yearn for a partner/company - the vast majority of singles (me included) said a big fat NO! Made me think about it and I'm actually very happy, contented and quite like my own company. Was watching a drama on the telly last night where 2 women were in tears over troubles with their respective men - I can't remember the last time I was really upset since separating. Apart from the very occasional urrgghh day I'm really happy and never feel down or upset. My two last relationships (exhusband and the partner before him) really ended up making me a different person - and not for the better.
Being single has done me the world of good - I make more effort to meet people, please myself and have a lot more time for things I want or need to do (lose weight, fitness, hobbies etc)
Just wanted to give some encouragement to anyone that is feeling a bit down about being recently single or in an unhappy relationship - there is life beyond it!

Same here, I hardly buy anything full price these days. Yes, online only and follow the link on the grabbit board but not much left now. Just managed to get some purple trouser, jeans for £9.60 :D. If they fit that is at a size 8!

I've been doing this - passed some onto mum which have are in very good conditions and plenty of wear left in them and are nice clothes too and some to ebay too which are the same

Well ladies I have surpassed myself - I now own two dresses.:rotfl: Cheap and cheerful from ASDA & Sainsbury's.

I took notice of your advice re Sainsbury's clothing sale Maman. Yesterday I took advantage of their 25% off. I bought 4 t-shirts for OH, and then for me a red knitted dress, two thermal vests, two camisole tops and two nightshirts. £63 the lot.

From ASDA - I bought some tops for OH, some thermal worksocks for DS2 and for myself a lime green top, a navy and lime green cardigan and a navy and lime green sweater dress. Again about £50 so that's us all stocked up for now.

Lots of zingy colours to brighten up the dull winter days.:D

Your clothes sound nice! I would like another jumper dress as I had one last year I wore loads and loved wearing it too

I realise this too, life is for living, we never get another chance at living the same day, live it how you want to. I'm happy on my own right now as my life is my own to live happily how I want and maybe one day I'll share it with someone again if they are truely good enough for me in every way possible and me for them

Just done another 4.65km - will be walking the dog round the estate after tea so will get to 10km in 2 days - hurrah:j
Am officially poor until payday - just totted up all of the extra unbudgeted things that have gone out of the bank this month (vet, xmas do ticket, party frock, extras for school....) and it comes to £225:eek:
Its batten down the hatches time until the 15th.
Have plenty of food, will do free exercise and have already paid for the couple of social things I'm doing (mostly walks) but will need a bit of petrol next week.
I'm not overdrawn and refuse to put things on the credit card - if I want it it will have to wait until after payday - so there!
The only thing I may allow myself to do is pop to the cinema on the weekend if I get a bit stir crazy.

The Kindle Fire (budgeted for:)) for my sister arrived today - just had a little play with it and its ace! Really easy to use and just what I'm looking for to suit her needs. Very pleased with it.
  • Its 3.36am and I'm on here must be crazy! Been awake since 3 with bad period cramps, well bad enough to wake me up! Taken yet more painkillers and hot water bottle lets hope that works! I Don't think its normal to be in this much pain.

    Ehxx
  • Morning,

Everhopeful - I hope you managed to get back to sleep. I get terrible period pains and aside from going on the pill, the only thing that seems stop the pain is the Feminax you have to ask for behind the counter.

I always wake up too early at the weekend, like WW did during half term. I'm currently tired and grumpy that I got up at 6am on a Saturday but unable to go back to sleep.

After my online dress hunting, I have decided to hit Dorothy Perkins today to try on a few of their fit and flare dresses, as I think the shape looks pretty flattering. They all have fantastic reviews and are versatile (the sort of thing I could wear around the house/to work/out with friends depending on what else I was wearing). We shall see!

fedupandskint - well done on your bargains! I had a quick look last night, but most stuff has gone.

Oh, PP, good luck on your 2000 a day word count quest! I have managed, ahem, 40 words so far! :rotfl: I tend to like to write in huge blocks, and then only end up writing daily about halfway through the month (it takes me a while to change my habits :)). I will be doing quite a lot this weekend. Oh, I love nano! :D

Bratz - I promise I will sort my clothes out this weekend! ;) I had the opposite situation to most of you with house tidiness. I am naturally much more untidy than my OH and he used to get annoyed at me :o. However, over the past year or so though, I've become much tidier and a bit of...a perfectionist. I had to take over the washing up. (OH would wash a dirty wok in clean water and turn the water orange and then start washing stuff like glasses.. he also manages to miss bits and gets water all over the kitchen :rotfl:) So I've taken over the washing up, but in return I've asked him if he can do specific tasks and it seems to be working pretty well. It doesn't always happen immediately, but he does it. And I now have fab hands because I do my moisturising treatment when I do the washing up ;)

    Happy weekend! x
Not buying any more 1.)books 2.)toiletries, esp. LUSH! 3.)stationery, unless absolutely necessary!
