Hi folks,
My first official post of October. Have been emotionally eating for the past 10 days or so and not meal planning so I'm determined this has got to stop and I must get a grip....
My budget remains at £500 for this month as it's DDs birthday today and we also have half term at the end of October. I spent a £21 ish in MrT yesterday on some veggies and packed lunch bits. Need to do a big shop so will probably go later today (as my gardening has been rained off) or tomorrow morning. Depends when I cba....d

Hi All
Going to aim for £135 again this month
Got a Mr W delivery on Saturday which I've part used the money in last month, and will part use in this month - so am already at £50.42.
HOWEVER, I reckon I've got enough meat until nearly the end of November, so it should all even out at the end.
Good luck everyone - I can't believe how fast this year is going!
Will go and read over the posts later onGrocery Challenge Jan 24 0/300

I'm an newbie and so please tell me if how I log things that I'm meant to.
We used to spend an average of £350 per month on our shopping (2 adults, 2 kids). Started cutting down from Sept (upto now as our months go from 8th-7th due to pay day) it's been £212! I'm overjoyed... I still have this weekend to do (it's been a '5 weekend' month) but overall I'm really happy.
Again not sure if I'm doing this right....
My budget for Oct is £150. (We are away for a week during half term)0 -
First spend of the new month for me. Just a small one, 39p on Tesco's value pasta sauce for tomorrow's tea. Mostly though, I just needed to break a note so I had change for hospital carparking tomorrow afternoon.
Hopefully it'll be my final post-op check-up. Fingers crossed.
Because it's fun to have money!

Hi, I would like to join this months grocery challenge please. I shall put £400 for the month for 2 adults, 3 daughters, a mad collie and 2 elderly cats. This will include any takeaways we may have this month too. I've just bought the Hairy Dieters cookbook and have been trying out some of their recipes. Very nice so far but my goodness they use a lot of ingredients in each dish. Must make sure my herbs and spices are well stocked up! I have Lamb Tagine bubbling away in my slow cooker and that with some couscous will be dinner tonight.:)0

Hi,
Feeling quite pleased with my butchers haul. I got 3kg lean mince, 9 pork loin steaks, 30 meatballs, 8 1/4lb burgers, 8 lamb kebabs for £17! I am really pleased with that, I have batched up the mince into 7 seperate bags to freeze and apart from chicken, I am sorted meat wise for a bit.
Other than that, DD2 has been sent home poorly and puked all over the car and I just got a phonecall from DD1s school to say she had been hit in the face by a boy (she is only 7!). AGH!!
So good news grocery wise but not so good home wise.

Just delurking to say check the loose cheese counter, I got Pilgrims choice vintage farmhouse chedder yesterday in Mr T for £4.50 a kilo, a so called 'special offer' at £2 for 350gm would be £5.71 a kilo. I paid £1.35 for a 300 gm piece.0
