Hi everyone. I've had the big shop delivered on Thursday and went and got some bits on Friday, so I'm now up to £85.32. Going well so far...0

Two more shops today for me.
Farmfoods to stock proteins/loo rolls & milk etc = £22.75 with voucher.
Morrisons (incl more Greens/oatso simple voucher spends = £3.46
TOTAL= £26.21
£103.45/£200.00
I still have one oatso simple voucher to use by tomorrow so a mini spend in the morning and that will have us well stocked with cereal this month.
Lots of bagels/bagettes reduced tonight so the freezer has been replenished with those now for breakfasts or lunches. :TAUGUST GROCERY CHALLENGE £115.93/ £250

Hi, I am very excited as I have never been able to post a pic before! This was our dinner tonight made by DH. Prawn Linguine with Chorizo and Cabernet Tomato sauce. It was gorgeous. DH made enough for four. I had 1 portion (watching what I eat) and he ate the rest!! It is from the new Lorraine Pascale book which I thoroughly recommend.
September was a blow out month for us, so going to try hard to bring costs down in October. DH struck lucky with whoopsie's tonight. The sainsbug staff member letting him choose items and then marking them down for him! He managed to get £43 worth of meat for £8.50 so we are happy scrumpers.

That looks scrumptcious TheThriftyScrumpers, and what a piece of luck on the meat as well!
Accidentally went into Sainsbobs to grab some dinner tonight since we unexpectedly had to head up to the in-laws, and of course being hungry we ended up stuffing the basket with all sorts (halloween doughnuts anyone? Doorstop-sized bars of chocolate?) Oops. Though it was all very yummy and a lot of fun, so I can live with it. We did buy a super cheap massive bag of rice though, and lots of other bits that will stretch out, so not all was lost.
£22 in total... seem to be getting through the budget rather swiftly and it's not even officially October yet. :eek:a penny picker upper. MFW approx 78% to go | FIRE 3 years worth (30% savings rate: now aiming for 40%!) | Normality is a paved road; it's comfortable to walk, but no flowers grow on it | Whatever you're meant to do, do it now. The conditions are always impossible | The only thing you absolutely have to know, is the location of the library0 -
Another small spend today - DM bought about £10 worth of stuff in M&S, and I spent about a fiver in KFC, so total spend today was £150
-
Came in under budget and tomorrow start of new month so £100.00 for me for October .I have lots of stuff in the freezer and cupboards so I am going to see how long I can get away with not actually buying ANYTHING apart from fresh milk and fruit and veg as I must start getting organised for Christmas as it won't be long before suddenly it will be next week !!!
Good luck everyone with October

Hi everyone - sorry not been posting for ages
(think I missed part of Aug & the whole of Sept!).
RL unfortunately getting in the way & not had much time to keep up with all the various threads / challenges I do.
Had a bit of a disaster in August ..... started fat club (why does healthy stuff cost more!) which meant a load of new stuff bought to try & also had to replace the contents of the freezer (some may remember I had a defrosting incident with the freezer a couple of months back).
Anyway, have now managed to spend nearly the whole years' budget  and so annoyed that 1 month can have had such a devastating effect on the budget  wondering if I can transfer funds from the emergency fund to cover the cost of freezer contents replacement.
Anyway, will keep plodding on so I can get a better idea for next year & hopefully fat club costs will reduce now I know what I'm doing!Grocery Challenge £211/£455 (01/01-31/03)
2016 Sell: £125/£250
£1,000 Emergency Fund Challenge #78 £3.96 / £1,000Vet Fund: £410.93 / £1,000

Another one not posting very often but always reading.
Had a nice day at the cash and carry on Friday stocking up on tea bags, fairy liquid, loo roll and the biggest container of HP sauce you have ever seen. I bought supplies that will probably last into next year which was fun. My spends are usually around £6 a time so £75 felt positively splurgy!
Dinner last night was a collection of YS tapas I have been storing up in the freezer. Because they have an offer of buy 3 for X and 5 for Y when I got them reduced in 3s or 5s the till took off the full discounts and I was paid to take them away. Very kind of MrT! This always seems to work on YS stuff with two offers on worth keeping an eye out for these."Sometimes life sucks....but the alternative is unacceptable."0
