  • They are winter pictures - taken at the beginning of Feb.

To be honest we haven't been as proactive as we should have been about selling as we haven't 'needed' to move but time has ticked along and suddenly it is 8 months and I had hoped to have moved by now.

Hopefully it will be sunny tomorrow and I can get some more pictures taken (the garden is also a lot tidier than those pictures) - and hopefully it won't take the EA two weeks this time to put them up!!

I'm new to this, but don't the agents take the photos? I almost went with your agent, but the fees were much higher. From speaking to my agent today the market is slow. Good luck.

They took the originals but we spoke to them when we wanted some changing last time and they said we could take them and then send them to them.

Yes the fees were/are high but at our original selling price they weren't too bad (fixed fee) and my rationale with going with them was that as they were a national chain there would be greater coverage/publicity which I think there has been BUT 8 months down the line I am ready to change as apart from the first 3 months, I don't think they have been proactive. I think that we will have to start pestering them and visiting them weekly and asking them what is happening - don't know whether it will do any good but at least I will feel that we have been on their backs.

The last straw has been when we dropped the price and they said that what could happen would be a bidding war and the price may go up again. In reality, not a peep from them, not one viewer and I think it has only appeared in the Guardian once since the price drop.

  • You are right about the stigma - we were the same before we moved here - I was definitely NOT going to move next to the Ridges! But 18 years on and I can honestly say that we have had absolutely no trouble at all and the only reason we are moving is that we want a bungalow with sufficient parking for all our vehicles :D

And today we drove though Percy Main and found myself looking at a bungalow next to the cricket ground thinking I wish it was for sale.

I know the one you mean - lovely property! I do really like it round here, we'll just need something a bit bigger eventually!

I think maybe on your pics try and make the garden not look too overlooked (following on from my feedback!).

Fingers crossed for a sunny day tomorrow, I may take a walk to the marina!

And it makes you want to cry at the amount those flats are going for compared to our houses (and the amount of space we have compared to them).
