Natwest Advantage Gold Account

Cricky that's lucky for you it happens all time!!! Try searching avu in the search engine of mse lol
I have seen it on here load of times, but I guess there's so many customers that have no problems and don't bother coming online! Most posts on banks are normally complaining about something and the majority of people aren't so quick to say anything good.0 -

The natwest gold current account without credit products is not a current account IMO it's an upgraded basic account where the the customer is happy as they have a current account where as natwest are risk free and happier as the customer is paying for the account.
It's not a matter of opinion. It is a full current account. It comes with a cheque book and the ability in the future to succesfully apply for overdraft facilities.0 -

A cheque book wow if you've got a decent credit history and apply for a natwest gold account and get offered an overdraft you are low risk and its then a FULL current account but if you've a dodgy credit history and receive a natwest account with no overdraft means your a high risk therefore no credit facilities but will cost £12.95 which is a basic paying account in my book.
A basic account = no overdraft.
Advantage gold account with no overdraft = basic account.0 -

It's the person's choice whether they want to pay for an account or not though, if they dont use the benefits they can have a fee free account with the facilities0 -

You're incorrect of course and I fail to see what point you're trying to make.0 -

Ahh forget about it my point I was just trying to make was how can you call bank account a full current account if the bank don't trust the customer with an overdraft or credit facilities which I thought was the whole point of a full current account hence why I called this type of account nothing but an upgraded basic account.
Now the way I see it is natwest have thought we will give poor credit scorers the gold account without starters and desserts but this way we will still be making £160 a year out of them.
Yes it's a current account on paper but a full current account its not and most of these will end up with a blue debit debit card and not a purple debit card.
So am I really incorrect?0 -

So your saying that if there is no overdraft on the account - this is a basic bank account? Even the person doesn't want one? And that suffices the person has a basic account? Hmmmm am I missing the point?
I thought basic accounts, don't come with a cheque book, no credit facilities, no dd's and SOs etc and these are classified as basic accounts = limiting to how you can withdraw cash to prevent you from going overdrawn.
If you have an Ad Gold account that offers a cheque book, SOs, DDs etc = not a basic account? But if you have an overdraft on your account then its a normal account - no overdraft = basic account?
Sorry don't see your point on this one. Perhaps they should create a product saying 'AD Gold Basic' but this defeats the object with people having poor credit hence offering the Basic Account package which is below the other 'normal accounts' which limits the consumer how they spend their own money.Hi, we’ve had to remove your signature. I've set my online banking up and can see everything is in order so I am just waiting for my debit card/cheque book etc. Can someone answer a question for me please? Will my debit card with this Advantage Gold account be a fully authorised offline debit card? IE the purple one?
the card will be as gold as your wedding ring0 -

That's what it is in my book an advantage basic account you need to let natwests CEO know so they can start sending these welcome packs out.0 -
For a start who said I got a poor score? Also, to a previous poster, at what stage does anyone get a gold debit card for this account? lol. Also, as far as the debate goes about the account type. It's a full current account...wether or not you choose to have an overdraft facility/cheque book/credit card etc, is up to the applicant when applying, but these facilities are available to those with this account and not the basic account. Why would they offer a basic account if this is one? Don't understand. I'm not paying 12.95 a month for the account I'm paying it for the breakdown cover, phone insurance and travel cover which IMO covers this fee to a degree as I have a Galaxy S3, and go abroad at least once a year.Who are you to judge the life I live?
