Premier Parking Solutions, Exeter

Hi All,
I suppose I'm just looking for more reassurance from you all!

I parked across 2 bays (to avoid being too close to a van on the left hand side of me who would not have been able to get in his door) and, due to the right hand side being really close to a wall with no room even for a small car, didn't think anything of it. I was horrified to find a parking ticket as I had always parked here and make sure I'm back well before my time as I know how frequently it is patrolled. I was gobsmacked to find a charge of £100 (or £75) if paid within 7 days! I didn't even know they had proper bays there because it is such a haphazard place, with uneven surfaces and white lines barely visible, but visible they are. I was about to appeal when my son googled PPS and we found this forum. :T

However, I haven't found anyone who parked over the white lines. I have never had a parking ticket before and I did park wrong, I suppose. I still should ignore everything though shouldn't ?, but I'm
really anxious - don't want to go to court!:(

  • You won't go to court. Just ignore all their begging letters, come back if you need more reassurance. In the very unlikely event of getting cousrt docs, don't ignore, come back for advice.
I'd rather be an Optimist and be proved wrong than a Pessimist and be proved right.

So it is possible that they could take me to court? Perhaps its just better to pay just in case. I was totally resolute that I would ignore the letters until I saw that!:(

NOOOO!!! Absolutely do NOT pay. Do not RESPOND. Don't phone them or write to them.

Yes of course it is possible they do court. A man can jump off a bridge so as to be hit by the oncoming train in the belief that he will survive but what are his chances?

If they do court. You will win. You shall stay silent while the judge tears your opponent limb from limb. It would be County Court so it wouldn't give you a criminal record if you lost, because it is a civil case. And the rules of Contract Law are that a citizen (the PPC) may only seek losses which in your case is the time you prevented a vehicle parking on one of the bays you occupied. Whatever the cost, it will be a far cry from £75 or £100. Those are de facto penalties and are prohibited by the state.

By ignoring their rubbish, they don't even know you are receiving them. And trust me, they won't go near a court. They are scammers, there is nothing real about the threat from a private parking company.

Never known PPS ever try any Small Claim, so forget that. A few PPCs do very rarely but not this one.

Like all the other posters on this board, you have a fake PCN. Ignore it.

When dealing with "tickets" from private parking companies (PPCs) our advice for tickets received up until the end of September is to ignore them as long as it's your car (not a company, hire or lease car). The registered keeper will just receive the usual threatograms and can play a nice game of snap with them.

Tick off the threatening letters here.

Watchdog clip with expert Solicitor's opinion here.

    Barrister's opinion here.

Show your friends & family the links and make sure the registered keeper is ready to play their game of snap!
PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

  • Feel so much better now after watching the clip and barristers reply. I have read the threads on this and other forums and I get the message - IGNORE, IGNORE, IGNORE

    Many thanks everyone:T

Been following the various threads - can you clarify.
Company car driver - got one of those PCNs.
Leasing company and employer are not sympathetic - even got a policy of levying a charge if legal fines are not dealt with in the time allowed. So do I still ignore or have to bite the bullet??
    Appreciate your advice.

Excel Parking, MET Parking, Combined Parking Solutions, VP Parking Solutions, ANPR PC Ltd, & Roxburghe Debt Collectors. What do they all have in common?
They are all or have been suspended from accessing the DVLA database for gross misconduct!
Do you really need to ask what kind of people run parking companies?

We can help but this is already answered:

Parking with a lease car (MacBudman's thread). If you still need advice after reading that thread and following all the links & advice on it then start your own thread by clicking on the New Thread button you see at the top when you are looking at the Parking Board index (see my signature for where to click, to get back there from any thread).
