Well, you're lucky, your DD could have been halfway out the car with her legs in front of the door and been hurt. At nine she should know better tbh and I hope you gave her a major rollicking. A bump on your car is a far better option than two compound fractures of the legs which is what happened to the son of a friend of mine in much the same circumstances.
As to who is to blame it's careless driving on one side and careless child control on the other so I would thank your lucky stars and accept responsibility for half the damage costs. See if your friend's OH can assist with repairs otherwise get a quote for your own repair and see if it's worth claiming on the insurance.Val.0
