At that age I used to like Judy Blume books. x1,2 & 5p: Christmas day food £9.31

I second Catcher in the Rye apart from the fact that Holden is 17 not 12.
Also, To Kill a Mockingbird and Lord of the Flies.
Oops sorry, I don't know why I thought that. My 12 year old loved it though. He didn't want to read the other two you mention, unfortunately, so we watched the films instead.
Ds has also read some adult sci fi eg. the Lathe of Heaven by Ursula Le Guin which he loved and at 14 he is currently reading The Curious Case of the Dog in the Nighttime.0
