?!?! I allways found AVG to be a mediocre free antivirus, Avast!, AOL-AVS, and Antivir PE are far more superior (IMO)... have you got a source to the review/test?BillScarab wrote: »Depends on which reviews/lists you check. I think it was Computer Shopper, I only browsed it quickly in Tesco. It's my problem, it's my problem
If I feel the need to hide
And it's my problem if I have no friends

Well actually, most people say must've, which sounds more like must of, than must have, so it gets written must of instead. Norton's? I haven't heard of that one before. Everyone does it for shops, Tesco's, Asda's, but that's because back in the day, the shop would be named after the owner, so it would be right. Doesn't bother me personally, as long as I can read it (i.e. not text speak). The trouble is that people now say "must of" (as I heard a radio presenter say last night) instead of "must have", hence it gets written like that.0 -

This presenter definitely said 'must of', because I particularly picked up on that. Most of their drivel is usually just background noise which I ignore.Charlie0 -
You know the bloke on the front of the Nortons box??
He is the bloke who owns your PC once Nortons is installed!
Actually, Peter Norton was a programming genius. I used his software back in the good ole DOS days (namely Norton commander and norton Utilities), and there were the best tools around.
I believe the bloat is the result of a takeover by Symantec, and that Peter Norton is not responsible for status of the Norton branded software available today. I'm actually happy that they don't use his pic on the boxes anymore.0 -

The thing with AV software is that I don't know how you can determine how good it is if you haven't compared it to other packages or seen how good it's detection rate is compared to other packages."She is quite the oddball. Did you notice how she didn't even get excited when she saw this original ZX-81?"

Symantec Norton Products are named after Peter Norton, thus the reference Norton's.
I think this also answers albertross's question to why many people say norton's and not Microsoft's etc.
Originally Peter Norton developed many utilites and sold them under his name which was then sold to symantec but they kept his name and picture on products.
So, some people refer to him when talking about Norton Products although technically he no longer owns them.
just out of habit I suppose.0 -
So now we know the blokes inside leg measurement, we all seem to agree (apart from one rogue poster anyway!!) Norton is bloated interfering rubbish!!
See that doesn't make sense to say Norton is bloated interfering rubbish, it would come across better if it were Norton's is bloated interfering rubbish!!0
