Download all the new stuff first,

Then unplug the internet cable, uninstall Nortons, reboot, install the new stuff, reboot

plug in the internet, update all the new stuff, scan your pc.

    EDIT:
    Bah, beaten to it!

    Nortons not all that bad.

Yes it can be a nightmare to remove if you dont know about the "Norton uninstall tool", which then makes it a doodle to remove. Recent versions have been abit heavy on system resources but ive been reading they have addressed this in the latest release.

Avg gets alot of credit because its free like other free stuff. but check the list, its overall quite far down.

Depends on which reviews/lists you check. One of the computer mags recently tested AV software. AVG came out top of the free ones and, I think, beat McAfee and Norton. From memory they regarded Kaspersky as the best. Personally I've never had a problem using AVG.

Doesnt that say alot about online reviews?

From Experince the best way is to check numerous sites for reviews on a certain product as some sites are affilates to products that they are recommending, while some have axes to grind, and some its just general preference to a certain product.

But the VB awards give you an idea of whats top of the list in numerous tests.

In defence of a brand name..

    It's Norton not Nortons.

The bloke on the front of the box is Peter Norton, he is a clever man, and was at the forefront of the PC utility industry. As far as I am aware he has no involvement in Symantec products anymore, some of which are very good.

AVG is not without it's problems.

All virus scanners and firewall products slow the PC down.

Take all reviews and comparisons with a pinch of salt.

I didn't know I was in English class? Sorry Sir, I will correct my error.

It should have been "Norton's" or "Norton is"

What mark will I be getting?

People don't say I will be uninstalling Microsofts or Mcafees, I'm always at a loss where "Nortons" comes from.

It isn't a plural, it's a name, and there is no "s" in the name.

So? Is it a crime? I have seen much worse grammatical errors, but it doesnt really matter on a internet message board.
