VP parking solutions suspended from accessing dvla

Hi, I've just received a parking charge notice from VP Parking Solutions through the post today, letter dated 19th September for a so-called offense on the 27th August 2012.
The letter refers to the sign that stated they are able to obtain my details of the registered keeper from the DVLA and obviously have, hence my letter and charge. They have also included two pictures, of my parked vehicle and me walking away from it.
I was actually gone for all of 6 minutes as I ran into KFC to use their toilet. I'm 3 months pregnant, so frequent stops are not uncommon for me!
From reading the thread it looks as though I should just ignore this letter and £70.50 fine and £94.00 if left over 14-days. The suspension from the DVLA was put in place on the 17th and they wrote to me on the 19th, so I assume they accessed the DVLA prior to the 17th for my details.
Am I definitely ok to ignore this? I'm hormonal at the moment so everything is stressing me out! Just wanted to double make sure
Thanks in advance for any advice0 -

Yes Lozzabeth my dear, you are DEFINITELY 101% safe to ignore anything that lands on your mat from this certified scammer. Your reasons, the pregnancy coupled with the affront having no gravity whatsoever (a few minutes, huh!) would most certainly have cut ice with any council or authority that issued a penalty. But private parking companies do not provide a people service, they are illiterate parasites whose only way of making money is by bullying the vulnerable. DO NOT write to them, don't phone them. At this point they do not even know who drove. I promise you that after a few more threatograms, your case will self-destruct.0 -

Yes absolutely safe to ignore them. Given I'm a kind soul, if it helps remove the stress PM me and I'll give you my details to pass on to VP saying I was the driver
All aboard the Gus Bus !0 -
I forgot to say, the photos means absolutely NOTHING in this outfit. Their inclusion is a mere scare tactic, an attempt for your antagonist to look official.0

Thanks Renegade I feel much better now and SodG, you are such a sweetie lol :-D I'll man-up and see his one though ;-)
I'll ignore them from now on. Although I must confess that I made a bit of a faux pas this morning and called them to ask where this was taken, as I didn't even recognise the place. They told me to put any appeal in writing, however I won't waste rainforest on them now.
The cheekiest thing is that one of their employees took a pic of me leaving and returning to my vehicle, so she confirmed the 6-minutes over the phone. Apparently there was an actual person policing the carpark (snooping on people) from his van. If anything it's a clear case of entrapment, as he could have pre-warned me!
On positive note, I'm usually camera shy, however I like the pic they took of me! haha.
Thanks guys!0 -

This very point was highlighted in a recent court case where the PPC goon sat in his van and watched somebody walk off site. The judge pointed out that the PPC guy should have warned the motorist instead just slapping a ticket on the car. The parking company lost the case. What part of "A whop bop-a-lu a whop bam boo" don't you understand?0 -
Trisontana refers to VCS, March this year. They were HUMILIATED. If you read the transcripts, the judge sounds like the lawyer for the defendant!
If you're lucky, you'll go to court too. It will be money in your pocket in the end of the day!

lol it will be interesting to see what happens then...
I wish I knew all this at the beginning of this year when my partner, who is a serving soldier, arranged to meet up with one of his colleagues for a kit exchange on return from his Afghan tour. They arranged to meet at some services down south and my partner had to wait for his colleague's flight to come in which was delayed. He ended up waiting 4.5 hours before completeing the exchange.
A few weeks later a demand letter came through from EXCEL parking saying he overstayed the permitted stay time (3 hours) and didn't pay.
I wrote to them explaining his situation and that he had just returned from Afghan and was hardly likely to pay attention to flamin signs - he just slept! I even sent them proof of his deployment and his army ID.
They didn't care and demanded he paid anyway which we reluctantly did. It's just awful how he can face all kinds of atrocities over there, to come back and be slapped with an £80 fine - niiiice! These people aren't human.
So, I see my plight as retribution, so If I do go to court, I can win his money back too haha0 -

That fits. PPCs are not reasonable individuals carrying our a service for the good. On top of their insensitivity over these issues, they are rude.
I don't recommend abusing terms and conditions merely because you know the loophole in the law, but your partner should upon leaving the forces consider any Excel controlled space paid for and stay there as long as he likes. The money he paid them amounts to a life-long season ticket. No amount of parking on their client's land can cost them what he awarded them. The gits must have been turning cartwheels when they received his payment.0 -
Just had a thought, if they have signs up like in post #10 saying they are going to get RK details from the dvla, well they can't as they are suspended so wouldn't their signs be in breach so should be reported to the dvla ?Excel Parking, MET Parking, Combined Parking Solutions, VP Parking Solutions, ANPR PC Ltd, & Roxburghe Debt Collectors. What do they all have in common?
They are all or have been suspended from accessing the DVLA database for gross misconduct!
Do you really need to ask what kind of people run parking companies?0
