I think it may depend on the charity - I donated a previous lot of cat food as my cat didn't eat it, and a local small animal shelter gratefully received it. I imagine somewhere like Battersea cats & dogs home might have a rule like the above. Maybe give a local small shelter a quick ring?
(Failing that, maybe freecycle or an elderly neighbour with a cat?)

Yes, I'll have to make enquiries but I was just hoping someone might already know.

There's no way in hell I would donate it to a local cat owner as I see enough of yesterday's cat food as it is if you get my drift, but that's a whole other thread.

I have not received it either though they said they will send a cheque. It maybe worth to complain in their FB.
