It's not just unsettling, it's costly and a waste of time. A few weeks ago we have 2 full days of interviews set up for a full time administrator. On the first day just 2 out of the 7 applicants turned up and on the 2nd day 4 out of 7 turned up. None of the applicants who didn't show called to rearrange or cancel. If they hadn't bothered accepting the interview (which they always knew they weren't going to attend) we could have held the interviews over just 1 day instead of 2 and not wasted a whole day's work.

2 days? Surely the CV should get you down to 10? Quick phone interview would get you down to 3-5. Interview rest. Two half days.

I dont know about 200 applicants for one job, recently posted a job for a role, relatively little technical experience required(full training given), major global brand, excellent reputation and benefits, service/sales role, pay well over £7 ph, flexible hours, less than 20 applicants, 17 of which are nowhere close to the relatively little technical experience that was specified, invited three to interview, still awaiting to hear from one after ten days since I invited for interview, interviewed one, the other one pulled out, due to the hours not being what she wanted (but as per advert!)

On this basis, I conclude there must be 98percent employment in my region....

well done you. Falko - print it off and take it in to the shop or JC ASAP. No one will know (unless they took names of the 200) that you weren't one who got a form.

    well done you.

It was worth a quick search to get falko going again ;)

falko: Please do as Sarah advises above...
"Part P" is not, and has never been, an accredited electrical qualification. It is a Building Regulation. No one can be "Part P qualified."

If 17 out of 18/19 people didn't meat your 'relatively little technical expertises' I doubt they were common expertises.

If full training is given then you rejected those applicants because they weren't physically attractive enough lol. Kind of defeats the purpose of 'full training provided' if you use the must have some technical experience excuse to reject them.

    I agree.

I love when you hear people saying staff are hard to find and the English don't want to work, on closer examination you find out the pay is around min wage and they want you to have a car and some experience and be flexible!

Well over £7! I'm sure you won't shock any of us if you were to say the amount :rotfl:

Seriously if you only got 20 applications for a 'nice' office job it must have come over in the advert as a not so nice job, not so nice company or not so nice salary.
