Loving the menu, I can see where I'm going wrong and why I'm spending so much money on the food shop. I need to do a rethink!0

Natty, i have been howling - are you sure you dont live at our house , well to be honest we are never at home with work, so you prob could as thats what we live on. oh and the OH;s new fav is boiled eggs and soldiers- really adventurous. I hope thouse spudsare oven cooked not microwave- somehow oven cooked are so much tastier.
I find it so much easier reading other peoples posts - as often you feel like theonly people being frugal - and everyone else been big spenders, but we r normal and they are odd!!!
lulabelle - quick tip re food, i had a oh who was a "food snob" after living with his mother , she would over stock the fridge, throw food away and then complain on how much she spent on food. But through my student life and mothers waste not want not way, i have now have him trawling the supermaket on a sunday around 3ish - cruising for reductions and then we literally eat what we get - he has become less fussy, we spend around £10 on fresh, all rest is in the freezer and then we just top up. he now finds it exciting to see whocan find the best bargins, and he mite get a treat of a pre packed sandwich on a monday - but only iff they are reduced of course!! xx

Thanks for the tip money curious, I'll suggest it as some sort of competition to DH. It amazes me how much food gets wasted by people. Whilst I spend more than I'd like, we don't waste any at all and have a very strict menu plan. I'm going to log all of the food spends this month and see how we get on!0

Lol at your menu Natty - my menu is fairly similiar but involves only turkey sandwiches on white bread for 7 days out of 7. Sometimes I'll throw a tomato on too but I don't do it often for fear of going completely off the rails!
:rotfl:
Ammonite, you and I should do a cookery show for Channel 4 - we can call it 'Amms and Nats 15 Second Meals' we'll give that lard-boy Jamie Oliver a run for his money;)February13 - £74990 (or thereabouts)
