The thing is, I told him NO, however I know I'll cave - and a machine with flashing lights has just driven past my house so roads will be ever so slightly clearer.

I received Blackberry messenger communication from DS2 late last night saying he was "on his way home on the bus" the subtext being "please dig the car out and come and get me from bus stop in the centre of town".

Took one look at amount of snow outside, got back in bed, told him to take care walking home, and worried myself stupid for over an hour. Upshot was he arrived home wet but none the worse for the experience. Call me a bad mother..

We still don't have any which is good as I was concerned we wouldn't get back from our Burns celebrations.
Happy belated Burns Day AJ:T my family are descendants from his wife - there's a wee snippet of information for you;)

Hi DerbyshireGirl:) You see, for me it's the worrying myself stupid part that makes me do the 3am pickups as I wouldn't be able to sleep, so figure if either 'child' has given him 'come and get me' signs, then I figure that I may as well collect - just so I CAN get back to sleep....either that or I suffer from catastrophic thinking!
You're not a bad mother, I'm just far too soft:o

Oooohhh sounds lovely. Might make it myself next week. Let us know what it's like if you try it Natty.
Having haggis for tea tonight, a day late for Burns supper but OH was out last night so we delayed it :)

The only thing I thought to eat was cheesy mash with the cherries for pud :)

    Well I've just eaten my lulalayerdish and I thought it was really yummy:T I also used ingredients in the house (go me!) as follows;

Finely slice 2 onions, crush garlic (I love garlic so used quite a few cloves) and soften in olive oil.
Add tin tomatoes (mine's came ready chopped)
Slice as many potatoes as you like (I sliced 5 medium sized - although perhaps a wee bit too many)
I used a cast iron dish and layered tomato/onion/garlic followed by potato, then another layer etc. until all ingredients used up.
Another glug of olive oil (although in hindsight I don't think anymore was needed), sea salt and ground black pepper.
Grated cheese (I didn't have very much cheese, so would have used a wee bit more had it been available)
Whacked in the oven whilst I had a nanna nap:D

The next time, I would use rosemary (fried through with the garlic and onions) and definitely slightly more cheese - oh and slightly less potatoes and olive oil:D

This dish suited my veggie palate, however for meat eaters out there I would say would be a great side dish.

Heeeyyyyy - I've just posted a recipe on my thread! (I'm the new Fortune Smiles / MWC:T)

Excellent - pleased you enjoyed... For meat eaters I would consider perhaps adding some bacon bits?

I'm going to have to cook this myself now and will add it to the next meal plan.

Did it take long to cook through?

    It took one whole nanna-nap:D

Top Tip: Definitely don't add any extra oil - I'm going to transfer the remainder into another dish before heating up for part 2

I returned to stripping today, although have yet again run out of paint removing gloop...I'll have to wait until payday though - so near to finishing, and yet so far:( If I were tilly, I would have had a paint stripping removal pot with funds accrued since last March. However, as I'm normal I don't - sorry tilly, jokes:D)

Speaking of payday, it's almost only 3 days until the wonderous day arrives. I am so excited, as I am nearing closer and closer to April where payment docked for gas guzzler (remember that story?) will cease, and my tax code should FINALLY be correct, AND I should be due some form of rebate:T
Finally, I should be able to accurately work out how much I can afford to MOP and simultaneously save, rather than the finger in the air approach I am currently taking;)

This week at work is the lead up to the :eek::eek: time. I have so much prep to do for CPD delivery (and indeed work out exactly what I should be delivering) , interspersed with muchos planning meetings, and a smattering of interviews to boot.

But first....c'mon Thursday hurray up and arrive:D
