Gosh. Fancy having to lock the front door. How terrible.

My parents weep with frustration and regret when reading these threads - if such funds were available when I were a child they would be laughing all the way to the post office then staggering all the way home from the boozer.

Your post clearly shows you have your issues! You have also showed you dont have a clue how important it is to stimulate a child with adhd. My son has adhd and tourettes and yet i know he will never be so ignorant as he will have a fantastic upbringing unlike your self who has been left to fend for yourself. Parents with an adhd child does not have time to even think about social time with their friends as their too busy provided their child with the quality of life with the money that they deserve. You cretin!

What a worry, while some posts recogniseuse the complexity of the issue of real disabilty, others just seem to be ready to feed the Tory party "find the scroungers" wing...

Perhaps everyone except me was told children would just be one big warm fuzzy feeling with no real effort required. If you choose to give birth to a child why should the state and taxpayers give you additional financial assistance when the child exhibits poor behaviour?

The only ADHD related form I've been asked the fill in was a case in point (no doubt word got out and all the others go through Social Work/GP) .... Mother of four, binge drinking, all children beyond the pram stage with awful behaviour. So why should families who juggle two full time jobs and childcare have to fund this family's lifestyle? Stop having kids that you can't bring up and can't afford. Most of the rest of us have to make these compromises and choices!

The spectrum of diagnosis of ADHD is enormous. The form school teachers are usually asked to fill in is hardly scientific. Sadly, many in the professions dealing with signing off these forms can't be dispassionate. I know because im a head teacher ( and no, I don't vote for the Clegg Cameron co-habitees).

Why does having a child who doesn't behave mean you need more money? Some people's children attend sports and cultural clubs seven days a week. Is this an additional support need requiring state finance? My kids need activities and, it would appear, constant train fares or Mum's Taxi company bookings to keep them stimulated and content. No cash forthcoming from the state to help with that!

I think working in the public sector makes you realise the lack of responsibility people are willing to take for their own actions. Think on this... One benefit DLA recipient I can think of gets a new car every three years... Her need? The four children she failed to properly interact with as toddler and babies.. Oh, it's a seven seater and has leather seats... So worth about three times what mine is..but then I have to pay for mine she get a new one from the taxpayer. (This one isn't ADHD - these kids have speech delay through sitting in front of a tv since they could see and obesity from eating while doing it. There's a father in the house but he's too lazy to work and why should he? Its a mug's game when the benefit's Lotto is so reliable. Just have another kid, ignore it, feed it rubbish and you will have another DLA form coming soon!

I've worked in a school where 74% of pupils were from homes claiming non-working benefits. They all knew the scam. Find a syndrome or -ism for your child. Why go out and work for £5 an hour when you can live off the state?

BTW it's 'fait accompli' not 'fait a complit'

Btw 2 - stop feeling sorry for yourself and posting on the web and go and do something with your kids, do the ironing or clean the house.. That's what I'm about to do...

    Regards
Shreddy (short for shredded nerves and shredded legs for all the running about) Btw non-iron people, that's a myth, even if you are wasting the world's resources tumble drying those allegedly non-iron school shirts to a mildly creased perfection; even then they still need ironed...
