Matt's mission to be MF!

Good morning everybody.
Had a great night and now up after two little ones jumping on my poorly head! It was a kind of MS evening as my workmate and I were given extra drinks for free as my partners sister is the bar manager!
We had another sort out in the house yesterday. Took 3 boxes of stuff to the charity shop. That's two weekends of taking stuff away but the place doesn't look any clearer! Oh well, got to keep going with it.
Well apart from the OP that's part of the DD, I'm not sure I'll be able to make any further OP's in October. But, I'm quite resourceful. I might be able to come up with something to pay extra.

As its just gone past the 10th of the month, I better update my diary with the regular monthly OP of £244 has now landed into the mortgage savings pot. I'll update my Sig also, so it stays upto date with everything that gets paid in.

Thanks for the encouragement. Even though I put a target of 2020, I would dearly love to finish it off before then. My most optomistic target would be 7 years . That would require me to have good work solidily and for a bit of luck to come my also. I feel like I'm a lucky person, so that could happen along the way :j.
No MSE tonight as its Domino's time at home!

Hi guys,
As I expected, October has been a hard month to put anything aside for OP's. I have had a stroke of luck with taking a deposit for my car off a mate. I've already downgraded my car for a cheaper one. So today I placed another £500 into the mortgage savings account. Later this week I will work out what cashback I've been given by Santander and add that to the pot.
Thanks for reading, night all.Mortgage at Highest- £126.995 Aug 2006

Hi matt the chippy, I've just read through your diary. I am currently with chelsea as at re-mortgage we could not move and I am looking forward to going elsewhere in a year and a half. Its just so unfair that current customers get much worse deals than new ones, I suppose its the same with a lot of providers.
Anyway best of luckMFW 67 - Finally mortgage free! 💙😁0 -
Hi Newgirly,
Thankyou for taking the time to read my diary and thanks so much for thanking my posts! I was a little amazed when I saw the number jump up yesterday. I found the Chelsea to be very unhelpful and would charge a late fee as soon as a direct debit didn't go through. In contrast to them, I got my new payment day wrong with Santander, the DD didn't go out and I phoned them the next day in a panic as it was the first payment. They weren't bothered at all and stated there would only be a fee if you were a month late. Paid it straight away and happy since.
Very proud of my partner last week. She bought 3 gift sets in the clearance at Boots for about £10. One is a xmas gift and the other two have been sold on ebay for £16 each!!! No OP with it but to keep a balance on Paypal.

Thanks for that, I've surprised myself if I'm honest. I just wish I had this lightbulb moment earlier!!!
