Well done Ms Chippy :T:T:TA positive attitude may not solve all your problems, but it will annoy enough people to make it worth the effort

Thanks ladies, I have to say I'm amazed by how this has started out. I never thought such progress would be made. I know future months won't show this kind of OP but anything paid is going to be so beneifical to us in the long run. My partner has now stated that she will pay in as and when possible (not like this payment!), so its all systems go for us now.
I will be taking part in the new 3 year challenge, that should push us to keep going at a frantic pace!!!

Santander 123 account are now giving cashback on direct debits, so as I've now registered for online banking I will move across any money I receive. £16 paid last month, should be about £24 next month onwards. So I'll move that over each month. Not very much but I think of it as a half a months mortgage payment over a year. Well worth it now I think of it like this. I just need to start using my 123 credit card each month. Again lots of cashback and I've set the direct debit to clear it in full each month, so no interest to worry about. I have to say Santander are really helping me in paying this mortgage, cheers!Mortgage at Highest- £126.995 Aug 2006

Oh yes, you're right there. I do have an addictive personality, I might as well make the best use of that trait:j

Hi everyone, hope its a good weekend for money saving for all.
I've received a £100 cheque as way of a sorry for when new van turned up without a full tank of diesel. I guess it would be rude to not pay that into the mortgage, hopefully today or possibly on tues.
I've got the details needed for online banking, that will help to move over the really little amounts that will add up to a nice OP over the year. All the cashback amounts from Santander can now be moved over straight away.
Have a good weekend .Mortgage at Highest- £126.995 Aug 2006

I didn't manage to bank the cheque yesterday, so will be done on Tue.
No real money saving going on yesterday but we did collect up a couple of bags and boxes of clutter for the charity shop. We also now have a few bits to ebay as well as my vast collection of car parts to get rid of. I just need to pull my finger out!!!
Its good to start to get rid of unwanted stuff, as it feels like a fresh start and an early spring clean. Its liberating all this OP'ing, I've never felt that I've had a solid goal to aim for before. Thanks for all the support and inspiration across this forum!Mortgage at Highest- £126.995 Aug 2006

Evening everybody,
Hope its been a good week for MSE's everywhere!
Woo hoo time!
I've finally had the second cheque through from the outstanding PPI claim I had with MBNA. This had been going on a year now. Sorted myself, so no claims companies to payout! Because they did a massive balls up and delayed the settlement, I'll put in a complaint and see if that recovers a bit extra. The cheque is for £556, which is an exact month's payment. I'll be adding this to the OP's even though this is an expensive month. Might as well enjoy the full benefit of the banks money!!!Mortgage at Highest- £126.995 Aug 2006

Afternoon:) . Lovely sunny day here in Torquay.
Banked my two cheques, £656.90 onto the mortgage. That feels good! At this rate, I'll be way over my OP target for the year. I'd say the next 4-5 months won't see this level of OP'ing, so its nice to get a headstart at it.
Have a good weekend all, I'm not going be very saving minded tonight as its a rare beer night with my workmate. Looking forward to that:beer:.Mortgage at Highest- £126.995 Aug 2006
