I work in a hospital in England. I have racked up some 63 parking fines over a one year period. I have been ignosring the fines. I have been informally informed that the hospital is investigating me for fraudulent activity for avoiding some 63 parking fine/tickets. Is what i have done fraud or can be charged with fraud. Urgent help required. I fear for my employment and career.

What do your employment T&Cs state about parking?
This isn't the same situation as a member of the public ignoring a PCN in a hospital car park.
You can be sacked if you don't comply with your employer's rules, provided they are legal, which they probably would be in this situation.British Ex-pat in British Columbia!0 -
Fraud ? In what way is it fraud ? This is a civil matter not criminal, the only way they can enforce these invoices is to take you to the small claims court. Can you give more details though. Have you paid for a permit ? Have you parked in the wrong area? Not in parking bays ?Excel Parking, MET Parking, Combined Parking Solutions, VP Parking Solutions, ANPR PC Ltd, & Roxburghe Debt Collectors. What do they all have in common?
They are all or have been suspended from accessing the DVLA database for gross misconduct!
Do you really need to ask what kind of people run parking companies?0 -

Informally informed by whom? Someone who matters? Boss? HR?
And you haven't had ANY fines. These are not fines.

You will need to tell them more, what was the alleged reason for the fake tickets, parking in the wrong car park by any chance? Was it because there were no spaces and you were due on shift?
Do you pay a monthly amount out of your salary for parking?PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

HI,
Thanks for replies.
I just parked in the standarded car parking bays for staff. You have display a ticket in the form of a scratchcard. I just didnt bother sometimes.
I will have to find out T&Cs on parking i dont remember seeing this in my contract though.
I have not had a formal approach by anyone. However informal words have been sent my way via my immediate superior. words such as criminal, fraud and polics have been used. Also that my car has been traced (whatever that means).
I dont really what is being alleged in detail though.0 -
Wow, your car has been traced! That must've taken some doing! Isn't it right there in the car park most days?
63 fake parking tickets is some going, but they're all still just boring invoices that can't be enforced. There's no law that says that 63 contractual disputes adds up to a criminal offence.
If I were you I'd write a formal letter to the HR department, copied to my manager, inviting them to put up or shut up (in slightly more polite terms). Whispers and innuendo should be anathema to an experienced HR professional, who will be fully aware that such behaviour would go down like a lead balloon with an employment tribunal.Je suis Charlie.0 -
Listen this is not criminal or fraudulant, this is civil only! Do you pay monthly like a direct debit to park there ? If so there is no loss with this. Dig out you contract of employment, also if you are in a union ensure you use their help. If they use displinary measures ensure everything is in writing and take a trusted witness to anything along those lines.Excel Parking, MET Parking, Combined Parking Solutions, VP Parking Solutions, ANPR PC Ltd, & Roxburghe Debt Collectors. Yes, it would be helpful to understand whether your "offence" was not paying, or merely not displaying. If the former, it might be a good idea to offer (in writing) to pay for 63 days' worth of parking. No-one can demand more of you.Je suis Charlie.0

There is something that forgot to add, is there a parking company involved with this? Or is it the hospital themselves ? ThanksExcel Parking, MET Parking, Combined Parking Solutions, VP Parking Solutions, ANPR PC Ltd, & Roxburghe Debt Collectors. What do they all have in common?

The tickets are from the hospital itsel and not a company.0
