  • Morning!

Very dull and grey here today, but dry, so washing is on the line anyway (where does it all come from??)

On the way to school this morning passed another house being re-roofed, so will be watching out for when I can have a little chat with the workers there... Some builders etc have a woodburner of their own at home to make use of the free wood, but a lot of them don't and just put it in a skip.

Giant slugs, eew, I hate them. If only slugs were tasty we could solve our problems

we were contemplating a woodburner when we decorate our living room but can't decide. I'd enjoy the gathering wood experience and Mr LT has the posh chopping up tools but just how quick to they take to heat up a room? Never had one before so just don't know.

:hello: Page Three before I managed to poke my nose in! I can't believe it  ah well, happy new diary Pippi :j

Loving the sound of your new house, it sounds much snugger than the old one. I'm kicking myself that when I moved to this one (two years ago now ) I specifically asked the people I was buying it from to take the woodburner with them - I completely forgot that I didn't have to use it every day, and I could just use it sometimes .... sigh ... bit mad, really!

Anyway, I'm loving the sound of the economies you've made, the adventures you've got planned, and the better access you've got to everything - as well as an early evening stroll looking at the piers, that sounds gorgeous.

Life is good here, and a little bit more frugal now that a 99p shop has opened up, which I'm very chuffed about :) I'll be hopping back on here soon :kisses3:
2023: the year I get to buy a car
  • Our woodburner heats up the room pretty quickly, the problem I find is how to get it to have any impact on the rest of the house. One room is too hot, but everywhere else is still cold. You need some sort of air circulating system but it's hard to think of something that isn't hideous and takes up lots of space. If we were starting from scratch it would be best to connect it to a boiler, but we didn't have the space.

Called at the building site yesterday to pick up the scraps I had been promised. Expected a few bits but found a big pile, more than I could fit in the back of the car! Must go back later.

Baby is currently happy having first go in her door bouncer, so I'd better try and get on with stuff! Also plan things to ebay at weekend as it's free listing time and I am trying to deal with the clutter mountain!

    Have a good day peeps!
  • All sounding good in lollipop land, so I'll just find myself a chair near the wood burner and curl up with a book and watch the antics of the stalking mum, and the childers trying to spread their wings.

  • Hey up all you lovely peeps - how nice to see you all.

Well the past couple of days have just flown by - we've visitors and unexpected visits from landladies and all sorts of busy-ness to juggle.

Just about to go and see Mr F be a rock star in the local blues festival - must catch up on you all after when I'm sure I won't be able to hear much!

    :)

Thanks for all the faces popping by - I'll reply later over weekend when I get a mo :)

    Have a great one everyone.
