Hope you managed to get a good bit of shut-eye after this post Pippi!
Good morning world, it's sunny here yay and I've got a half day of "work" (not much to do now my boss has moved on.....) and then off across country to a uni for its PGCE open day, yippee!! Really looking forward to it, although it's going to be a tiring day spending a lot of time on trains for 90 minutes of uni time.
Must remember to put a good book in my bag to keep me occupied if there's noone nice to chat to on the trains.0 -
Have a great one kk - how exciting.
I did indeed get back to sleep at about 5am
gonna be tired today.... Total debt 26/4/18 <£1925 we were getting there.

Morning all!
A lovely morning here, sunny and breezy, my favourite sort of autumn morning.
Well done on the plans Pippi, lots going on there! It sounds as though you are doing much better than me! Glad the new house is cosy and I hope the neighbours keep their hands off!
Sorry to hear about the dog Maty, very difficult decision. Whatever you decide you are worried it will feel like the wrong thing, but you can only try to do what you think best.
On the MSE front, bedding is in the washing machine and will shortly be going on the line to blow dry. Later we are going to be the audience at a dress rehearsal of a children's play, so free entertainment there! Then later will be picking up some free firewood. Like you Pippi, I consider firewood is not something you buy! Yesterday had a friendly chat with some workmen who are re-roofing a house and they promised to put their offcuts aside for me to pick up. For tea we will be eating up odds and ends of veg along with a big knobbly yellow squash from the garden. Have had hardly any produce this summer apart from cucumbers and climbing French beans - slugs gobbled up everything else - almost enough to make me give up! So we need to make the most of the things we do get!
Hope everyone has a productive day!0 -
Trog my dear lovely to see you - not just me then on the 'free wood' and all that.

Blustery kinda day here - cold and sunny with showers. YOu've reminded me I must write a list for tonight and see about the airer up in the garage as we're struggling to get things dried.
Regarding the garden - its been a really poor season all round, snails/slugs or otherwise. Enjoy what you've managed to produce!
I've managed to acquire a pallet this morning - so that's my wood chopping later sorted.
Poor haggis was at the vets today to have his you-know-whats-off but only one has appeared so they want to wait a bit. So he's had a holiday in vet land. No idea how that 'non-operation' will cost but there you go find out later.Total debt 26/4/18 <£1925 we were getting there.

I haven't tried to grow anything in the garden this year, but as an aside, has anyone noticed just how many slugs and snails there seem to be this year, and I am sure they are twice the size as normal, great big fat slugs all over the place - Yuk!
Been here for a long time and don't often post0 -
hi Pippi, i think you've inspired me to make a new budget, i did one pre house move (can you believe that's 5 1/2 months ago?) but have never really done one post move. And we keep committing to things so we really need to do it. I also need to get the wonderful Mr LT to understand how squeaky things are at the moment.
Can't wait to see the wedding rings, i'll bet they're beautiful. I'm still getting used to taking my off but it's better than losing it before i eventually get it resized.
If you ever miss the gardening bit now you don't have a proper garden, please don't forget your friend down in soggy Suffolk, we've got so much to do and plan and in all honesty don't know where to start, and we have a beautifully decorated spare bedroom now for guests, four legged ones also welcome.
I really should get a shuffle on over to my diary which has gone by the by of late - which is a real sign that i'm not behaving in true MSE fashions.0 -
Pippa - Hope haggis is ok, we had Baileys bits chopped off he was so funny for about a week he wouldn't go near mum as she made the decision, but dad and me took him! we use to say to him Bailey wheres your swingers and he'd open his legs look in disguist then throw a filthy look to my mum!
Hope you managed to get some sleep.
The woodburner sounds fab, the couple facing us have one and its like an oven when its on, can't wait for a winter night, xxxx rip dad... we had our ups and downs but we’re always be family xx0 -

How old is Haggis now? Rodders had one slow to drop but it was down by 6 months. I didn't realise that they had to drop all away from the kidneys :eek:Pippa - Hope haggis is ok, we had Baileys bits chopped off he was so funny for about a week he wouldn't go near mum as she made the decision, but dad and me took him! we use to say to him Bailey wheres your swingers and he'd open his legs look in disguist then throw a filthy look to my mum!

I was sure I posted yesterday...but no sign of it now

Well done on chopping up the free wood Pippi, I agree, it's great fun!! We have a collection of trunks and branches from trees that DH cut down last year and early this year around our garden. DH is slowly getting through the chopping up of them all...so hoping not to buy in any loads of wood this winter :j Ours is an old wood-burner, and not the most efficient...but it is lovely when its been on for a few days and the bricks/stone of the house walls start to warm up...then the house certainly starts to cozy up!!
As I type I can hear a couple of owls twit-to-wooing down the fields...they have been quite vocal the past few days...love it!!
I too can't wait to see the wedding rings. You getting Orcadian ones, or sourcing them from Fife, like our engagement rings? Still can't get over the coincidence of us geting our engaement rings from the same jewellers..and quite a few years apart too!!
God luck to you and your DS in the Uni preparations. Not heard from DS2 since DH dropped him off at Uni on Sunday...can't have forgotten anything important then!!
Not going to get in touch until the weekend...don't want to seem like the poor mum who is lost without her 'baby'!!! It is rather quiet around here though...and our food expenditure has really dropped already...funny that!!!!
Need to get off the 'puter and get going with knitting socks for my dad's birthday...2 weeks to go, and only started Monday, should get them done before he heads off to Malta on holiday...not that he'll need them there much!!
Hope you can catch up with your sleep soon Pippi, no fun when you can't sleep. Well done on your budgetting...I need to get sorted soon...when I have some spare time...need to make some soon

Good luck with the new diary :-)Blackadder: Am I jumping the gun, Baldrick, or are the words 'I have a cunning plan' marching with ill-deserved confidence in the direction of this conversation?
Still lurking around with a hope of some salvation:cool:0
