  • Still lurking :D. Can't get rid of me that easily.

With all the threads I follow I am guilty of reading and running, which is awfully rude, but today I just thought I would have 5 mins for catch up.

Gee whizz lady - we're all busy I do exactly the same alot of the time and do feel guilty too! :o hope youre well?

Glad you are safely moved, chooks rehomed, and meal planning (I am embarrased:o we have been lunging from one freezer drawer to the other in search of sustainance since I started work about a month ago.) So I am also going for a more co-ordinated approach this week:rotfl:.

I saw the chooks on sunday and have thier eggs in my new house today so I'm very happy! On the ohter hand, I hate meal planning but its a great tool and it works, I need it to be a 'loose arrangement' or I get very cross at the lack of flexibility = or I turn it into a game (kinda - beat the fridge, eat it before it goes off) so I'm sad like that!

My DD is at uni (but moved away about a year ago anyway) She is enjoying it; working as well so I hope she doesn't over do it.
DS has been to an open day at Birmingham Uni this weekend, so will see what he thinks when he comes home on Tuesday.

How exciting - we use skype alot so I've talked to him several times already whether he likes it or not!:rotfl:

Still have the lottie, lots of cabbages left still, carrots were dreadful this year, hoping to get up there tomorrow, but we will have to see.

Glad you sold the polytunnel and great news that you still get to play in it.

Sounds like you are making headway with the settling in. My task for the day? Putting the washing away may not sound much but you want to see my clean laundry pile:eek:

Good for you - and thanks! I hope the laundry didn't beat you.:rotfl:

Pippi it sounds like you are doing so well! We have been in this house 5 years and still haven't put pictures up - or in some cases have put them up, then taken them down to decorate, then not got around to the decorating after all...

Bringing more stuff home is always a problem for me - my previous boyfriend once joked I was the only person he ever knew who made withdrawals from a paper bank!

Very cold here today (or have I just gone soft?) Came home with another boot-load of free firewood and am now using it for the first time since spring; living room is now nice and warm but festooned with drying washing.

SFRD hope you got your washing mountain out of the way! Some days I seem to spend so much time just moving stuff around; putting washing in the machine, taking it out and hanging it outside, bringing it in because it starts to rain then hanging it up again inside, then taking it down and putting it away; going shopping and bringing stuff home and putting it all away, emptying out bins and recycling and taking stuff to the recycling centre and the compost heap etc etc. On days like that I feel as if life is just one endless round of doing things (buying/ growing food, planning what to do with it, preparing it, cooking it, eating it, clearing up after it....) just so I can carry on living another day just so I can do it all again, which I guess it is really. Have to try not to dwell on that though otherwise it just seems utterly pointless!

Hope everyone else is having a more purposeful time!

We're all a bit like that aren't we its like a merrygoround - eat it wash it out, recycle it, take it to the recycling, go shopping, unpack, eat it...........:rotfl::rotfl:

I think the autumn is cold - so we're not soft we're just alert!:rotfl:

Very envious of the aurora viewing, would love to see that, in fact I think it is going to go on my list of 'Things I want to do with the rest of my life'.

Had another decluttering push today, another trip to charity shops (although I did buy two children's music CDs), took 'Little Sweetpea' to baby music group which she seemed to like and met a friend there for a catch-up, sold something on ebay, now about to do a bit of mending so quite an MSE sort of day really.

Definitely off to bed soon though - almost fell asleep this afternoon!

    Well done lots acheived!

As for the aurora - I'm lucky = right place/right time. I've missed it a few times but I've seen it often enough to feel very privileged :)

Hope you have something treatsy to do for yourself today!

I'm working but that in itself in this ecomonic climate is a treat isn't it?

Another rare visitor, never seem to manage getting on here very often..lots to do.

Glad you enjoyed the aurora Pippi, you seem to be quickly settling into the new hoose looks nice and cosy. Good news about the polytunnel...when you get your home down in the East Neuk, then you can get yourself a lovely new polytunnel...and have less worries about it blowing away!! :D

In an odd unsettled mood today, could this be due to DH being made redundant yesterday?! He will quite a bit of redundancy money (we hope), but it's the uncertainty of it all and knowing he will have to look for a new job soon, lord knows where...hopefully local. Our cottage is lovely, but so much needs to be done if we wanted to sell it in the near future!! :o

Right need to get to bed...shattered and off to the gym again in hte morning with a friend...slowly increasing the amount of exercise I do...perhaps I will manage to shift more of my excess weight then!! ;)

I'm so sorry to hear about your hubby - fingers crossed that hopefully he'll find something, he's a resourceful chap.

I'm not on here much either - and good luck on the weight loss and the exercise - good for you. I need to try harder - I only walk (albeit everyday) but I'm still no where near fitting most of my clothes.

    I think they shrunk.:rotfl:

  • Morning all

    Today - a 'pottery' worky-nonworky day.

Also have to check banks and if polytunnl money is cleared then pay off the cc.

    :)

Thanks Taxi - I hope yours is lovely too!

I've done the dogs (I feel like the p**p queen)
Cuppa to be found now I think as I'm not as fit as I should be - does 'brisk walk' mean 'out of breath looking purple'?

And breakfast must be mine! I'm starved.:D From the cupboards of course :money:

Also got a chicken carcass to boil up and make soup - nom nom nom. (the soup not the carcass)
