Still lurking
. Can't get rid of me that easily.
With all the threads I follow I am guilty of reading and running, which is awfully rude, but today I just thought I would have 5 mins for catch up.
Glad you are safely moved, chooks rehomed, and meal planning (I am embarrased:o we have been lunging from one freezer drawer to the other in search of sustainance since I started work about a month ago.) So I am also going for a more co-ordinated approach this week:rotfl:.
My DD is at uni (but moved away about a year ago anyway) She is enjoying it; working as well so I hope she doesn't over do it.
DS has been to an open day at Birmingham Uni this weekend, so will see what he thinks when he comes home on Tuesday.
Still have the lottie, lots of cabbages left still, carrots were dreadful this year, hoping to get up there tomorrow, but we will have to see.
Glad you sold the polytunnel and great news that you still get to play in it.
Sounds like you are making headway with the settling in. My task for the day? Putting the washing away may not sound much but you want to see my clean laundry pile:eek:My finances are work in progress.Normal veiwing will resume shortly0 -
Pippi it sounds like you are doing so well! We have been in this house 5 years and still haven't put pictures up - or in some cases have put them up, then taken them down to decorate, then not got around to the decorating after all...
Bringing more stuff home is always a problem for me - my previous boyfriend once joked I was the only person he ever knew who made withdrawals from a paper bank!
Very cold here today (or have I just gone soft?) Came home with another boot-load of free firewood and am now using it for the first time since spring; living room is now nice and warm but festooned with drying washing.
SFRD hope you got your washing mountain out of the way! Some days I seem to spend so much time just moving stuff around; putting washing in the machine, taking it out and hanging it outside, bringing it in because it starts to rain then hanging it up again inside, then taking it down and putting it away; going shopping and bringing stuff home and putting it all away, emptying out bins and recycling and taking stuff to the recycling centre and the compost heap etc etc. On days like that I feel as if life is just one endless round of doing things (buying/ growing food, planning what to do with it, preparing it, cooking it, eating it, clearing up after it....) just so I can carry on living another day just so I can do it all again, which I guess it is really. Have to try not to dwell on that though otherwise it just seems utterly pointless!
Hope everyone else is having a more purposeful time!0 -
Morning all - what a busy bunch you are!
I'll reply properly later - all very interesting things going on!
Today is yuk yuk yuk - the weather is just miserable.
Not much done so far - working today (t break time)
Banks checked
Telephone bill off and child benefit in - that's about the sum of it.
Work cheque to pay in later
Must pop by a gardening customer and see if she wants a winter clear up.
Meal plan to do
DD's travelling to dads organised (by him) and printed (by me) - so she's off for two weeks at the weekend for some autumnal sunshine en france.
Landlady picked up all extra furnitureso now need to organise myself before Mr Me arrives and make it all nice.
Right an action plan for the day ahead at work is required - have a good un - cuppa almost done!

Hi Pippi! You sound a tiny, teeny bit better, though still not clear of it. I keep saying I'm going for a cup of tea - it'll be time for an early lunch if I don't get a shift on! Dreadful weather here now, as I don't *have* to go out, I'm not stirring my nose out of doors, no way! Hope you stay dry xxx2023: the year I get to buy a car0

Very envious of the aurora viewing, would love to see that, in fact I think it is going to go on my list of 'Things I want to do with the rest of my life'.
Had another decluttering push today, another trip to charity shops (although I did buy two children's music CDs), took 'Little Sweetpea' to baby music group which she seemed to like and met a friend there for a catch-up, sold something on ebay, now about to do a bit of mending so quite an MSE sort of day really.
Definitely off to bed soon though - almost fell asleep this afternoon!0 -
Another jealous one! But I'm very glad you got to see them ... might have to start another bucket list, and keep up with this one!2023: the year I get to buy a car0
