Have the courier company, Walsh Western called you yet? I've order about 6 or 7 Dell machines for friends and family and they've always called beforehand. They don't specify a particular time, just any time after 8am on any given day.
If you want to trace your delivery, go to https://www.walshwestern.com and in the bottom right there'll be an option to check Dell UK Order Status. Click on here and it will take you to the relevant Dell page to enter your order number etc.
Is this the same page you've used before? Alternatively, you can call + 44 (0) 8706 06 3355 to enquire about deliveries...0 -
They're useless, it's been dispatched today but will only arrive on the 11th April. What a load of !!!!!!!! is this Dell's normal standard of service? Build a PC in 3 days then take 8 days to deliver? :rolleyes:0

You do realise its Bank holidays from friday to monday so you lose 4 days.
Plus its shipped from ireland and has to come across.
So in your case its actually only been 6 working days on the 11th0 -
That's still rubbish. I had an Inspiron laptop delivered witih 2 working days 2 years ago. That was with UPS, a proper carrier. Now they're using some cheapo company - 6 days is still a long time.0

I meant 6 working days in full.
Monday to thursday = 4
then next week Tues + Wednesday (delivery day) = 2
Total 6 Working days.
3 Working days for delivery from Ireland in total.
What I cant work out is, If you have ordered from them before then you know the procedure? so what was the point of this thread?0 -

Last time I spoke to a salesperson who advised me how long the laptop would take to get to me, and indeed it did get to me in the timeframe he suggested.
This however has been a whole different kettle of fish. It took over 2 days longer to build than it did with my laptop and it's going to take a further 6 days to get to me than did my laptop did previously. This order has been delayed bigtime - that, is the point of this thread

Inpatient people usually go to PC World instead, and pay for it dearly. Part of the reason they are cheap is because they are built to order, and go direct from the factory to the new owner, via a "cheapo" courier.
The estimated delivery date is clearly stated when you order.Ever get the feeling you are wasting your time? :rolleyes:0 -
Maybe the driver is off sick:D
I suspect the issue is the bank holiday, everyone in the cheap Dell laptop thread got their laptops within a week, and sometimes ordered Fri night, received Mon/Tues.
A watched kettle..Ever get the feeling you are wasting your time? :rolleyes:0 -
Yeah I went for an eye-test and the optician had phoned in sick they didn't bother telling me though

The laptop delivery is quick, I did get the impression my system would be here before the bank holiday but I guess this won't happen now. Maybe the laptops were off-the-shelf?
Shame they don't use UPS anymore, now that was a competent courier...
