Scottish Power £70 cashback deal

  • I am on the same boat too. I followed the MSE link to Moneysupermarket.com on 19th July for £70 cashback and have heard nothing from them. The switchover to ScottishPower was completed 2-3 weeks ago. I have not received any emails from Moneysupermarket.com I have been left in the lurch. What to do?

" Ends Thurs: £70 cashback on new cheapest deal. Sign up to any Scottish Power tariff via MoneySupermarket* by midnight Thurs to get £40 dual fuel (£20 per fuel) cashback plus £30 on top (£17.50 for single switches) via this MSE link (paid within 3 mths). "

    When will payment be made?

Payment will usually be made within 2-3 months (certain cases may take up to 6-months) after you complete your change. This allows sufficient time for the transfer to complete and the supplier to notify us this has happened."

How do I know if Moneysupermarket.com have my switchover on record and plan to pay me the cashback? I received no emails from them.

£40 and £30 paid the day after I receive 'your switch is complete' email from SP :), which is good as it almost pays 1st DD.
  • £40 and £30 paid into our account yesterday, we had the 'your switch is complete from SP on Friday. It was much faster than I'd expected.
  • "Switch complete" email received on 28th September, "Your Scottish Power account online" email received on 6th October, £40 and £30 received today, 10th Oct.:j

    Switchover went without hitch.

My cashback arrived this morning too. All I need now is for my old supplier to cough up what they owe me.

Gold medal to MSE and MoneySupermarket for very fast £70 cashback on the switch to Scottish Power via links. Wondering about policies/time span for previous suppliers to refund credit money. Must say that I kept my DD details open with Eon and they refunded pretty quick.

We have just switched from British Gas to Scottish Power using this deal – we haven’t had the ‘your switch is complete’ email yet, just sent our meter readings through.

We’ve been told though that we can’t now update our meter readings to get accurate bills, but have to pay a standard amount (think it was £69) each month regardless of how much we use, and this will just build up credit on our account.

At British Gas we would receive estimated bills if we didn’t send in meter readings but, if we chose to send the readings, would just have to pay for what we’d used.

We switched because Scottish power’s supply is cheaper than what we were paying British Gas but are now going to have to pay more, does anyone know if this is right? I hadn’t realised they could do this so didn’t think to ask when we set the switch in motion (we live in a small 1 bed flat on the top floor, so we don’t really require much heating).

My partner is only getting part time hours at work at the moment, so starting a savings account with Scottish Power isn’t going to help us much right now .

Thanks in advance to anyone who can answer my question
